Oh so elegant. Oh so chic. Oh so French. This stylish Parisian apartment on the rue de Verneuil in 7th arrondissement is for sale. Marketed as a pied-à-terre at 113m2 with two reception rooms, kitchen, small library/guest room and lovely master bedroom it’s more than large enough to live out my Paris dreams. At 2 850 000 € though I may just have to keep fantasizing. Via Kasha Paris.

I came across this Stockholm apartment on sköna hem and did a double take for a couple of reasons. First, it was suspect that this was a Swedish home. Those lovely Swedes aren’t exactly known for their colourful homes. Second, it was so unique and over the top that I needed to review a second and third time to make sure I didn’t miss anything. A layered space is always a win in my book. I want to discover something new at each glance. If I can evaluate a room in its entirety in 3 seconds, I am bored. Kim introduced us to the oh so chic portfolio of interior designer Fabrizio Casiraghi here but when I stumbled on his reworking of this apartment in the 9th arrondissement it was love at first sight. The neutral palette warmed by terracottas and red, the clever mix of classic and modern, the soft light filtered through floating drapes. Petite but perfect.

It’s about bespoke details, high style and comfort. About layers of texture and materials and meaning. It’s  about “the creation of spaces that nurture the family and provide a beautiful backdrop for life’s memories to unfold.” Nichols Hills by Oklahoma-based Sara Crooks Design.

I’m taking a little journey back to historic Como House in South Yarra. No not a physical journey, more like a jump back a couple of years to Como By Design, a show house featuring 23 of Melbourne’s eminent interior designers under the helm of Tigger Hall. The magnificent house is owned by the National trust so the designers were not able to alter the fabric of the rooms and had to return them to the original state once the event was over including the original wall colour! The house was completely transformed – 2 days to set up & 1 day to pack down. I’ve embedded links to each designer in the pictures. Time to go for a little journey yourself.
