Run away! Run away! Dream of a way to get away. It’s Monday and you’re chained to your work desk. Take a little time to fantasise about Hotel Fasano Punta del Este in Uruguay. Monday means escape day. Run away from the beginning of the work week and dream of faraway places. Enter the dark and moody luxury of the Canal House boutique hotel in Amsterdam’s Jordaan district. Waiting within is a secret green oasis bathed in dappled light. Light and dark, old and new, drawing inspiration from Dutch history and art. Shall we run away to the dark side? Work can wait.

It’s a Monday. I want to escape the working week. Time to runaway to a luxury getaway faraway, at least in my dreams. Old meets new in a startling juxtaposition that makes each element stronger. Clean, minimalist lines enhance the crumbling stone shell of the original building. Perched on the hillside amidst citrus trees Zash is in eastern Sicily in the province of Catania. A building of contrasts just like Sicily is a land of contrasts, hulking Mt Etna and crystal blue seas, barren lava and rich agricultural land, where the warmth of stone meets sleek manmade finishes, rugged and luxe.

Located on the Italian island of Capri, Capri Suite is a modernized 2 suite hotel designed by ZETASTUDIO Architects. It was originally part of the St. Micheles’ convent built in the XVII century, and the juxtaposition of the rustic architecture with modern furnishings makes this a pretty funky hotel IMHO.

I need your thoughts. Is it wrong for a woman in her 50s to strap on a backpack and head to Barcelona? Check into a hostel? Belly up to the bar? Is it? When the hostel looks as great as Generator Barcelona? And when I’m finished I can jump a train to Venice, London, Copenhagen and more.
