One more sleep until Christmas!! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend filled with joy and laughter, lots of good food and granny naps. I’m not sure what Jo’s plans are for blogging (I’ve missed her on MSN the last couple of days) but I’m going to go ahead and say I likely won’t be blogging tomorrow or Sunday. So enjoy yourselves, but first, I’d love to show you this home I found on the website of French magazine Le Journal de la Maison. I LOVE this home. The owner seems to love natural materials and flea market finds, particularly with an industrial vibe (me too!!). I was drooling over each one of her funky light fixtures (hello Jielde!). See you all soon!!

Today was a bit of a quiet week so I thought I’d squeeze in another reader request since my list is rather lengthy. This one is from Lee: “Do you any inspiration for industrial looking kitchens, doing a kitchen remodel and like the not so clean put together look.” Industrial, not-so-put-together kitchens are my favourites – next to my existing Greentea kitchen that is 🙂 – so I was happy to devour my photo stash on the hunt for some of these types of kitchens. Good luck with your remodel Lee and I hope the following photos help! (P.S. Not that long ago I did a reader request on stainless kitchens which goes with the industrial theme of today’s post).

It’s a clever idea but often the idea never lives up to expectations. Not in this case. Poteet Architects, San Antonio, Texas have designed and executed a fab backyard retreat that still leaves no doubt as to its origins. I think what separates this conversion from many other ho-hum versions is the attention to detail both internally and externally and especially in its siting and landscaping. Too cool! Just need to get my hands on a container.

Chris Cushingham is a 24 year old recent design school graduate who emailed us to share his downtown L.A. loft – his recent project. He completed his loft in a hurry and on a really tight budget and I am loving the results. It’s modern, functional and industrial with unique furnishings. I am a huge fan of anything with an industrial vibe so I’m saving this one in my inspiration folder. Great job Chris!!! Might I add that Chris is part of the cast of a new HGTV show called “Design School” airing here in Canada, and is hunting for a job at a creative architecture or design firm so architects/designers – scoop this talented guy up!
