Bringing in patterns with textiles and wallpaper is always going to win over my heart. Like this home designed by Caitlin Flemming. I’d swap out all the white for something a little warmer but otherwise this home in Petaluma, California is a home run. Cozy and vintage-vibes that are classic and will endure the test of time.

Designer Saskia Blyth has transformed this two-bedroom penthouse in Notting Hill into an uplifting space with rustic charm. Located on Blenheim Crescent, the penthouse features cathedral-like proportions, vaulted ceilings, and low beams. Yellow-toned lime plaster and inky black walls create striking contrasts. A horseshoe-shaped reception room flows into interconnected rooms, while double-height windows illuminate the Boffi kitchen island. The dining area’s mottled walls reflect daylight, and an open fire adds warmth to the living room. Both tranquil bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and access to a private terrace with stunning views. Located in Melbourne’s leafy inner suburbs, Heyington Residence is a renovation by 11:11 of a 1930s interwar home, originally inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement. The studio preserved and honoured these ideas, focusing on quality materials and craftsmanship. Despite losing many original details during a 1990s renovation they reinstated the home’s charm with modern functionalities. Intricate timber panelling in the study guided new joinery complemented by natural stone and polished plaster. The result is a contemporary family home blending modern comfort with historical character.
