What a dream! Houses like this make me want to cry they’re so beautiful. This magnificent seven-bedroom, Grade I-listed house occupies an excellent position in the sought-after village of Croscombe, at the edge of the Mendip Hills in Somerset. The interior is replete with exquisite architectural features, ecclesiastical motifs and Palladian cornicing. Internal living space extends to over 4,500 sq ft across three storeys, with further opportunity to convert the adjoining coach house and attic rooms. The Old Manor is thought to have been built in 1460, originally as a rectorial manor house. The house is characterised by roughcast, limewashed walls and a magnificent Tudor chimney pot. There may not be many pictures but it’s just enough to excite and inspire. That green is so deep and alluring, the rooms so elegant, the kitchen a dream. And it’s in the 10th arrondissement of Paris! By Fabrizio Casiraghi.
I am such a huge fan of Jessica Helgerson Interior Design, as you may have come to realize over the years. Her team’s ability to take homes with history, filled with original details, and sympathetically remodel them to make them functional for today’s lifestyle is always impeccable and so perfectly executed. This home in Iowa City takes you back in time yet is contemporary and vivacious. I could not love this more. (Lead designer: Chelsie Lee; Architect: CWB Architects; Photos: Christopher Sturman)
There is nothing cookie cutter or half baked about this house by Madrid-based interior design studio Marta de la Rica. It’s about a celebration of life, of vintage pieces and modern touches, theatre and innovation.
