An inner calm

Posted on Thu, 15 Jul 2021 by midcenturyjo

I can imagine standing in the dining room of this Melbourne house breathing in the serenity. A clock in another room chimes, soft music plays in the kitchen. I’m sure I can hear the electric kettle rumble and click off. What a beautiful tranquil sanctuary to visit even better to own. An oasis in this time of turmoil. With a strong emphasis on natural materials and the colours of the surrounding environment this Vaucluse house by Sydney-based The Unlisted Collective. No cliched nautical theme, no overworked blue and white colour palette. Just stone and bush. Rugged and refined.

Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. Lyon Creative Agency by Landed.

From its elegant orangery style window and high ceilings in the living room to the cosy kitchen, from the verdant garden back through to the sweet and most likely hard-working scullery come laundry this London maisonette in Brondesbury Road has stolen my heart. Now if only I could move to London during the pandemic (my whole country is isolating from the world) I’d make it mine. For sale via UK historical home estate agency and sister agency to The Modern House Inigo.
