Bungalow blues

Posted on Thu, 5 Mar 2020 by midcenturyjo

“Located on a large leafy suburban block Bungalow House has been transformed and reconfigured from a labyrinthine of rooms & hallways to thoughtfully planned living spaces. By retaining the existing footprint and carefully replanning each space, internal spaces were renovated, each room designed and transitioning into one another to reflect the family, location and farmhouse design aesthetic.”

Hello blue kitchen! I think it’s a case of love at first sight. I shouldn’t have called this post “Bungalow blues” when there is so much to love about this house by Adelaide-based interior designer Georgie Shepherd.

What’s cooking?

With its beautiful stone walls and light flooding in through floor to ceiling windows you could probably throw in a couple of old wooden boxes and a camp stove and this space would still look magical. Adelaide-based Georgie Shepherd has taken this kitchen dining space to the next level. Country style kitchen goals!

Disclaimer: This is not a post about interior design. It is a post about maintaining original Parisian architecture in a major minimalist renovation, and how to use marble in a wow-factor way. Such a beautiful space, by architecture firm Septembre.

The Beach House

“This federation home is located on the WA coastline and the extension was designed around a young family of 5. The coastal context and lifestyle formed a strong part of the client briefing. We aspired for a casual feel with original design outcomes that complimented the existing federation style architecture.”

Chasing the dream – the London flat

I’m real estate stalking an elegant two bedroom split level apartment with private courtyard garden located over the upper and lower-ground floors of a converted terrace house in London’s Stoke Newington. I wish I wasn’t because I can’t afford it but a girl can dream right? I love the contemporary aesthetic and the generous Victorian rooms. Light filled and lovely. I’d just need to rearrange the second bedroom. Farleigh Road, London N16 via The Modern House.
