Loft love

A little loft love for your weekend delectation. The light (that bank of windows makes me swoon), the open plan space, the mid century pieces, just enough industrial and colour splashed about. Favorite spot? The TV room/den. West 15th Street Loft by New York City based Interior Design firm 2Micheals.

The elephant in the room

Or should that be the skeleton on the ceiling? It may be the deal breaker if you want to come on my virtual getaway to this loft style apartment in Tribeca, New York which ticks all the boxes. Exposed brick walls, light streaming in the the tall windows, a mini jungle, curios on industrial style shelves, great kitchen… and the skeleton above the dining table. I’ve been staring at it for ages trying to work out what the model is actually of. Ichthyosaur? Prehistoric razor toothed dolphin? A cousin of the Loch Ness Monster? It would certainly make for an interesting dinner party conversation. Franklin Place is available through onefinestay

The loft list

Light filled. Tick. Huge open plan. Tick. Steel framed windows. Tick. White painted bricks and white washed floors. Tick tick. Cool artwork, fab furniture, a statement fireplace and even the obligatory accessory, the swing. Tick all those boxes. There is a definite loft love list that we keep here at Desire to Inspire and this Harrison St. interior, in the heart of Manhattan’s TriBeCa, by Søren Rose Studio is definitely a success.
