Yes, I have a weakness for really well executed interior photography, especially when executed by a Canadian. Vancouverite Martin Tessler has it going on. I love his portfolio, and I am totally intrigued by the walls of trinkets in the first two photos. (Previous post here and some of his photos here)
Breathing life back into mid-century marvels. Putting the glitz back into the perfect Palm Springs bachelor pad. From his intial work with Jonathan Adler on the Parker in Palm Springs to work on a William Cody designed Palm Springs home, Frank Sinatra’s pad in the same town and John Lautner’s Garcia Rainbow house in L.A. New York based decorator Darren Brown worships at the altar of high mid-century camp. A mix of high end and Palm Springs thrift. (Obviously nothing wrong with Palm Springs thrift!) It’s hep, it’s hot, it’s fun and it makes me swoon for mid-century madness all over again.
Charles de Lisle Workshop is a San Francisco based design firm and it’s principal is a new favourite designer of mine. His experience spans the last 25 years working within the art of ceramics, metalwork, custom furniture, product design, decoration and interiors. His work has been featured in every major shelter magazine such as Interior Design, Dwell, Sunset and California Home + Design. While devouring his website, I came across the William Wurster Ranch in Portola Valley California and HAD to post this home here on DTI. It’s a mid-century modern and vintage masterpiece that is so full of character and intriguing furnishings and finishes.
Clever use of space with interesting storage solutions. Midcentury meets contemporary, modern urban with a clean lines. New York interior designer Robert Austin Gonzalez delivers rooms that scream stylish Big Apple apartment. I personally want the carved timber panel as sliding door, a great counterpoint to the midcentury modern vibe. Clever TV solutions too. While you’re at his website you must check out his furniture collection particularly the Grace range. Sculptural pieces so sexy and sinuous. Yum!
