Concrete, wood and nature

Posted on Tue, 3 Apr 2018 by KiM

The modern and simple architecture of this home is appealing to my inner minimalist. Add these massive doors and windows opening to a courtyard and this is about as close to heaven as you can get. By Parisian architecture and design firm Le LAD.

It has been a long time since modern and somewhat minimalist has made my heart skip a beat. This home in Austin’s hood of Central Park designed by Saavedra Design Studio is doing just that. I am desperate to redo my kitchen and have a million ideas floating around in my head, and this kitchen literally makes me want to weep. It is simple and just so perfect and I am DYING. (Photos:

Julia Buckingham and her team at Buckingham Interiors + Design are essentially creating magic. These first 7 photos are a prime example. You have a high-rise apartment with nothing architecturally interesting except sweet views and floor to ceiling windows and this firm has turned it into a dynamic and modern space. I added a bunch more photos too because I am really drawn to her unique, creative and bold style.

Stalking a TV producer’s warehouse

Posted on Sat, 24 Mar 2018 by midcenturyjo

I’m in the Sydney suburb of Annandale stalking the warehouse home of Julian Cress, Executive Producer of the Australian reality renovation show The Block. Originally his artist father’s studio, Cress and his family have transformed the vast shell into a modern home while retaining its industrial roots. Price guide is $4 million AUD so the vast majority of us will never be able to afford it but we can dream. Link here while it lasts.

White in Port Weybridge

It’s white, bright and totally livable. It’s family friendly, fresh and fab. I love the kitchen with its nod to traditional cabinetry and I’m seriously coveting the family bathroom.
