This home (dubbed the Antigua House) in Chelsea, London is all about neutrals, graphic art (a favourite it seems) and stripes – a winning combination. Antigua House is so-called because Maurizio Pellizzoni was asked to create interiors which echo its owner’s second home in the Caribbean. Evoking colonial charm, Maurizio opted for polished wood floors, natural linens, coir matting and a cream, taupe and chocolate colour palette.

I don’t know if it’s that I’m now in my godforsaken 40’s and life as I knew it will never be the same, but I never really thought much about “traditional” style decor such as this neoclassical home designed by New Orleans based Tara Shaw. And spaces like the dining room below really move me, much more than they ever did before. Of course, I would throw in a few more mid-century modern bits (as Tara has done in a couple of the rooms) just to keep things eclectic.

Running, jumping, diving deep into the portfolio of interior designer Leanne Ford. Rising to the surface, shaking off the mundane, feeling refreshed and inspired. I couldn’t decide on my favourite house so I cherry picked from many.

A limited colour and material palette certainly doesn’t restrict the style of this family home in Israel. Whites, greys and black play against bleached wood, concrete and interestingly a statement bamboo staircase. Love the double height public areas with light pouring in and the patio extending to the pool area. A beautiful home for four by Kfar Vitkin, Israel based Neuman Hayner Architects.

Classic spaces with modern touches that are unique, thoughtful and absolutely beautiful. This is Betsy Brown. A well suited home is a portrait of those who live within. It requires inspection of cherished objects, and introspection into cherished experiences. We observe and absorb what is abundant and appropriate, and attend to what is lacking. We expand upon the authentic and delete the superfluous. Modernist sensibilities form the foundation while antiquities inform and balance, providing a delicate tension and subtle energy. The result is a home that genuinely reflects one’s true nature. A home that feels like home.
