And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. This is my Boston Terrier pup, Suge, on my favorite chair. The yellow armchair is my favorite in the house – an unidentifiable leftover prop from a TV shoot last year. Suge is our energetic 6-month old Boston. I would say he loves sitting in the chair, but I think he’s more into the height it gives him for toy hunting.

I recently rearranged my apartment and moved the couch to the other side of the wall. This left the my cats with no way to look out the window. Came across your solution and did the same, Thanks again. Who would know that a changing bed could become a cats heaven. I have 3, Al (the big one, part bengal, in the pic), Mini (orange tabby) and John Wayne Woo the Chicken Little Beans aka beanie, peenie or wee (calico and long story on name). Below are a few shots of them loving the new perch. I made it last night. They didn’t understand the purpose until this morning. They have been happily sitting and sleeping all day.

This was my 9 month old kitten Franklin (Ha!) lounging in the sun on a chair I absorbed from an old roommate. If you look closely enough, you can see his “mittens” – has an extra toe on each front paw. Only more toes to claw furniture with!

Normally the pink throw is Lilly’s favorite spot to be but she also likes to curl up next to the pillows on my bed. It’s hard to resist a power nap when I see her laying around like that.

This chair was originally stained a dark ugly brown, and (unsurprisingly) it was buried in my parents’ basement for more than 30 years. Recently, though, I decided that my dining room needed a blue chair, so I painted it, distressed it, and brought it home for my cat, Roxie. Now she can sit and watch the squirrels in style!

See 11 month old Jack? Jack is not allowed to sit on the furniture. See the suitcase on the green chair? Chairs are for suitcases; one-off silvered leather ottomans from ABC Home in NY are for dogs, obvs. Jack was sleeping on the silvered leather ottoman, but when “someone” reached for the camera, he woke up moving his head, upsetting his balance, and slid to the floor. Good thing there was a dog pillow on the floor next to the dog ottoman silvered leather ottoman from ABC Home. Good thing sliding to the floor didn’t interrupt Jack’s nap.

This is our schweenie, Charles Augustus.  He’s sitting a 1960’s chair that belonged to my grandmother. Believe it or not, it is a pull out that turns into the world’s most uncomfortable twin sized bed.  As a chair though, it’s great and is one of Charlie’s favourite places to chill.

1 – Worked so hard to get the baby’s nursery just right, Peepers claims her spot on the modern changing table.

This is my beloved Milo. He is a 3 year old part-Siamese; I adopted him in December 2010. He is napping on my Ikea Poang chair. I got the chair frame for a steal on Craigslist and then purchased a new cushion for it. I’ve also draped an Ikea sheepskin across it. I love the colors in Milo’s fur. I have this silly idea to one day design an entire room with Milo’s coloring as inspiration, including his beautiful blue eyes!

3. Reese, my brother’s dashound, also enjoying the sunshine and view. He is smaller but manages to climb up the leather and sit on the back just like a cat.

This is Kofi. He is obviously a bit spoiled.  He spends his days lounging around on a Ligne Roset Togo sofa next to his Foscarini/ Diesel Fork table lamp.  And when he tires of the Togo he has a giant Love Sac to nap on.  And at night goes to bed under a Moooi Rabbit Lamp.  I suppose one of the perks of working at a furniture showroom is that our dog chills in style.

I also have a couple links to share….a petition for a pitbull who may be put to sleep and a Montreal non-profit, no-kill cat shelter currently located in a rented warehouse in an industrial neighborhood. Recently the building was sold, and the new owner raised the rent by 33%. Unable to pay the new rent, the shelter and the cats are currently facing eviction if they can’t pay the back rent. On top of that, they need to find a new place for the cats within a short amount of time. So if you can help out check out their site HERE.

Here is a photo of my bunny Carabine (rifle in french) on a sofa that’s been in the family for almost 50 years now… I’m presently mastering in archaeology, probably because I like old things so much.

1. Charley + Henry (the two Labs) belong to Landon Cole, a local furniture designer in Los Angeles. I met them when I photographed his showroom last week, and they completely stole my heart.
2. Vivian belongs to Sherry + Dana Solomon, who own 22 Bond St on La Brea Ave. This photo was taken when I was testing the lighting at their home, during a house tour.
3. Tucker belongs to architect Steven Shortridge. I photographed his Venice Beach home last month, and Tucker was equally as important to every aspect of the home.

I am a faithful follower of Pets on Furniture and have wanted to send a photo for a while, but it has been quite difficult because my hound, Ruby, is so reluctant to a) be photographed at all, and b) be caught sitting on a piece of furniture.  This lounge is the only piece of furniture in our entire 5,500 sf house that she will sneak on to.  It is in a guest room, so she did not got caught until we had a house sitter stay while we were out of town!  She’s getting on in years now, so we allow her this small indulgence, and keep a towel on the lounge because she sheds.
