If you’d like to send us photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow our basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim[@]hotmail[.]com and PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet!)
This is my Boston Terrier pup, Suge, on my favorite chair. The yellow armchair is my favorite in the house – an unidentifiable leftover prop from a TV shoot last year. Suge is our energetic 6-month old Boston. I would say he loves sitting in the chair, but I think he’s more into the height it gives him for toy hunting.
– Emily (Covington, KY)

This is a “stranger” enjoying sun on my wicker chair.
– Mano

Ollie, our 1year old yorkie, loves to take a nap on the couch…he also loves to hide from you behind the pillows.
– Erica (Honolulu, HI)

Just wanted to pass along a photo of my new adopted dog Kitty at our home in NYC. She is a 2 year old Maltese with lots of spunk!
– Lindsey

Our italian greyhound Flaca, at different stages of relaxation on one of our sofas. ; )
– Maritere (San Juan, Puerto Rico)

This is Malone, my approx. 7 year old rescue pit mix, making himself comfortable on my Gus Jane Bisectional.
– Bridget

Our darling Sophiecat decided to perch in front of the TV and mess up my husband’s gaming time. Caught her mid-yawn…she looks ferocious!
– Jessica

I recently rearranged my apartment and moved the couch to the other side of the wall. This left the my cats with no way to look out the window. Came across your solution and did the same, Thanks again. Who would know that a changing bed could become a cats heaven. I have 3, Al (the big one, part bengal, in the pic), Mini (orange tabby) and John Wayne Woo the Chicken Little Beans aka beanie, peenie or wee (calico and long story on name). Below are a few shots of them loving the new perch. I made it last night. They didn’t understand the purpose until this morning. They have been happily sitting and sleeping all day.
– Anna

This is my Florida brown dog, Pax, first having breakfast with us. He’s peeking over a re-upholstered vintage dining chair. And second, lounging on our slip-covered couch.
– Megan

This was my 9 month old kitten Franklin (Ha!) lounging in the sun on a chair I absorbed from an old roommate. If you look closely enough, you can see his “mittens” – has an extra toe on each front paw. Only more toes to claw furniture with!
– Kim

1 – This is a recent photo of a sleepover Hank and Stan had with their nearest and dearest. Sadly, no room for people.
2 – Hank, Stan and Bingo
– Leah

Here is one of our 4 pets, Luc the pug. He wasn’t completely relaxed while I took the photo. He was wondering what I was up too.

Normally the pink throw is Lilly’s favorite spot to be but she also likes to curl up next to the pillows on my bed. It’s hard to resist a power nap when I see her laying around like that.
– Neslihan

Please see 2 pictures of my cat Aalto sitting on a mid century modern credenza. And in one of the photos you can see Aalto sitting next to an Alvar Aalto vase. I named her after Alvar Aalto who is a favorite architect of mine.
– Andy

(Here are) pics of our vizsla Beatrice Bella who has her very own Brizvegas urban dog blog here. As you can see from the following link she loves furniture!
– Gem

This chair was originally stained a dark ugly brown, and (unsurprisingly) it was buried in my parents’ basement for more than 30 years. Recently, though, I decided that my dining room needed a blue chair, so I painted it, distressed it, and brought it home for my cat, Roxie. Now she can sit and watch the squirrels in style!
– Andrea (Glen Ellyn, IL)

This chair is a vintage find with a new paint job that Sophie just adores.
– Susan

Here is my cat Lily on my director chair, her favorite spot! She spends hours to sleep on this chair.
– Soizic (Mexico City)

Meet my 2 year old chihuahua “Conrad” resting on his favorite furniture after a busy day doing nothing.
– Nina (Oslo, Norway)

A perfect dog. French buldog named Cukrus (EN “sugar”).
– Evelina

This is our schweenie, Charles Augustus. He’s sitting a 1960’s chair that belonged to my grandmother. Believe it or not, it is a pull out that turns into the world’s most uncomfortable twin sized bed. As a chair though, it’s great and is one of Charlie’s favourite places to chill.
– Kyle (Hamilton, Ontario)

This is Mitchell’s favorite chair. From Day 1, he has claimed it as his own.
– Stacy (Pittsburgh)

Here is Bieb chilling on our lounge sofa….
– Marcel

This is our gorgeous Reuben settling in on our ‘Aura’ throw
– Annie (Brisbane, Australia)

Scout and Bo decided my bed was just the place for a rest as they were tired from their swim… you can see they are experiencing no guilt whatsoever~
Scout used to live downstairs, and immortalized herself by jumping clean through the trellis, leaving a Scooby-Do shaped hole. One crazy dog.
– Tricia (San Rafael, California)

The first place Tricki sat, was my favorite armchair with a silk throw and a big pillow from Bali..Tricki business!!!
– Mary (Greece)

1 – Worked so hard to get the baby’s nursery just right, Peepers claims her spot on the modern changing table.
2 – Our new, comfortable accent chair in our living room. So comfy, even Mango squeezes himself onto it.
– Michelle Mudrock (Seattle, WA)

Here’s Cargo on a leather recliner at my aunt and uncle’s house in Moorseville, NC.
– Cody Andrews

Here is my baby Bambi, a rescue pup we think is part dachshund part beagle, lying on the gold couch I inherited from my grandmother with her favorite blankie (from TJ Maxx).
– Gena, Atlanta

A friend discovered this vintage chair at a tag sale for $12.00, so we brought it home and put it in my studio, and it immediately became the possession of Sushi, the Norwich Terrier.
– Wendy Dreaney

This is my pet : Martini. He’s almost 2 years old. He is hyperactive and every day I have to convince him that the couch isn’t his bed! lol However, he is a great company!
– Drielly (São Paulo, Brazil)

1. Reese and Guava chilling out on the Leather couch from the “famous” Acton Old Hide House in Canada (quote: “Its worth the drive to Acton”).
2. Guava , my 11 year old Lab/Border Collie mix, taking in some morning sunshine while he watches the kids play outside on the family leather.
3. Reese, my brother’s dashound, also enjoying the sunshine and view. He is smaller but manages to climb up the leather and sit on the back just like a cat.
– Leanna (Georgetown, Ontario)

This is Kofi. He is obviously a bit spoiled. He spends his days lounging around on a Ligne Roset Togo sofa next to his Foscarini/ Diesel Fork table lamp. And when he tires of the Togo he has a giant Love Sac to nap on. And at night goes to bed under a Moooi Rabbit Lamp. I suppose one of the perks of working at a furniture showroom is that our dog chills in style.
– Leah (Denver, CO)

My two boys – Oliver “Kitty-Man” Garza and the ever lounging Bodhi Boudreaux. Had to use the cell phone since they would have followed me from the room had I gone to get the camera. Its like a parade at my house, up the stairs, down the stairs, with feline and canine at my heels at all times.
– Beverly (Sugar Land, TX)

This is a picture of my cat, Loki. Loki LOVES to sleep with his head on pillows like a human. When I noticed him sleeping on THIS pillow, I knew he had the whole idea right!
– Candice (Grand Rapids, MI)

I also have a couple links to share….a petition for a pitbull who may be put to sleep and a Montreal non-profit, no-kill cat shelter currently located in a rented warehouse in an industrial neighborhood. Recently the building was sold, and the new owner raised the rent by 33%. Unable to pay the new rent, the shelter and the cats are currently facing eviction if they can’t pay the back rent. On top of that, they need to find a new place for the cats within a short amount of time. So if you can help out check out their site HERE.

Here is a photo of my bunny Carabine (rifle in french) on a sofa that’s been in the family for almost 50 years now… I’m presently mastering in archaeology, probably because I like old things so much.
– Justine (Montreal)

1. Charley + Henry (the two Labs) belong to Landon Cole, a local furniture designer in Los Angeles. I met them when I photographed his showroom last week, and they completely stole my heart.
2. Vivian belongs to Sherry + Dana Solomon, who own 22 Bond St on La Brea Ave. This photo was taken when I was testing the lighting at their home, during a house tour.
3. Tucker belongs to architect Steven Shortridge. I photographed his Venice Beach home last month, and Tucker was equally as important to every aspect of the home.
4. Leah and her husband have just welcomed their new baby, and their family puppy (Otis) now has to share the spotlight.
– Bethany

Here is a picture of our loveable scamp, Ziggy, taking a load off on our leather couch. He is technically not allowed on the couch, but this particular expression was so pathetic, I decided to let it slide.
– Meagan (Grapevine, TX)

This is my kitty Graffiti on a chair I found on Craigslist and had new padding added and reupholstered in vintage tweed. In my favorite obsession worthy green of course.
– Rebecca

i am a lover of all things vintage & dog! i am an animal advocate, rescuer & pet photographer in houston, tx. these are some photos from various clients. i love my job!
– Robyn

1 – As soon as the four poster in my bedroom is freshly made up for the day, it seems that Tilly and Oliver, the Scottish terrier members of our family, just know that it’s nap time !!!!
2 – But on this particular morning the one thing they did not know was that Tamale was lying in wait !!!!
3 – We had just finished setting up the new West Elm linens on the antique sleigh bed at our daughter’s home in Austin, when Scout, the calico cat, decided that– Yep, these will do just fine !!!!
– Judy (New Iberia, Louisiana)

This is Greta my 5 year old frenchie. I live in a spanish style house in Seattle. The first photo is a chair from a pullman train car that dates 1930. The second photo is a chair I got at an antique sale and a pillow I
got in Thailand.
– Kelly

Please see attached Maxwell hanging out on what was my favorite and is now his favorite chair. The living room is a Moroccan theme with lots of warm red, orange and gold tones.
– Gwen (Brooklyn, NY)

Scout is a Vizsla and enjoys his time on the antique kilim upholstered chair. Dreaming of birds and rabbits, no doubt!
– Jill

I am a faithful follower of Pets on Furniture and have wanted to send a photo for a while, but it has been quite difficult because my hound, Ruby, is so reluctant to a) be photographed at all, and b) be caught sitting on a piece of furniture. This lounge is the only piece of furniture in our entire 5,500 sf house that she will sneak on to. It is in a guest room, so she did not got caught until we had a house sitter stay while we were out of town! She’s getting on in years now, so we allow her this small indulgence, and keep a towel on the lounge because she sheds.
– Cyndie (Nashville, TN)

Fatguts is at it again. He really does believe he owns the place. I know this is not strictly showing off any furniture – it’s more just the top of my desk – but it does illustrate how fatty likes to sprawl across the desk, laptop and digital tablet while I am on the compu.
– Andrea (Northern NSW)

This is my cat Sokrates and his furniture. We two used to look at “Monday’s pets on furniture” together – love it!!! He died a month ago – missing him so.
– Barbro (Sweden)
