I’m real estate stalking the home of interior designer Anna Spiro in Birkdale here in Queensland. Known for her exuberant use of textiles, patterns and colour the colonial house is a showcase of her eclectic style while still maintaining its historical features like VJ walls, sash windows, tin roof and wide verandas. Surrounded by lush gardens it’s a quintessential Queenslander home.  Link here while it lasts.

Christopher Kent of Studio CAK turned this apartment in the Palmolive building in downtown Chicago into a chic Parisian pad. A gut renovation, lots of ballsy colour choices (that kitchen OMGGGGG) and sculptural furnishings really add a WOW factor here. This is a “I would not touch a thing” sitch.

I love when a designer embraces the traditional and adds some personality and drama to keep it current. Some delightful eye candy from the portfolio of Edinburgh, Scotland designer Lisa Guest.

Now I know what’s inside the darkness. It’s a shell pink dressing room. Artist in Residence by Anna Standish.

Maximalism with colour and pattern

These homeowners were brave enough to request very bold colour and wallpaper from their interior designer, Cameron Ruppert and WOW did she deliver! This home has such a wonderful energy and spirit, and though it’s quite polished in its finishes it is still quite charming and approachable. That dining room though – if anyone ever doubted using high gloss paint….
