Stalking in Vaucluse

Posted on Wed, 8 Sep 2010 by midcenturyjo

Stalking down by Parsley Bay Reserve… reserve is right… the reserve of the rich. Is the lottery $20 million in Australia this Saturday or next? Only way I could ever afford this place. Beautiful outlook and a stylish masculine feel. Bold and strong just like I like my modern architecture down by Parsley Bay Reserve. Cool cubes harbour side. Link here while it lasts. P.S. If I sound if I’m rambling I am. I came home to find four of the sexiest retro chairs imaginable at me front door. Must take photos to share! Photos on my page.

Stalking on the skinny

When your house is tall and very narrow you need to think a little differently. Skinny has never looked so sexy (and I definitely don’t mean whippet thin super models). I’ve been stalking in probably my favourite street in Australia, Brunswick St, Fitzroy and look what I found! Right in the heart of the action and that view! What would make it more perfect would be setting up a business downstairs and living above the shop. I’ve always had that dream.

Behind the blue door

Stalking again. Wouldn’t you think that now that I have found a house to buy that I’d stop lurking on real estate sites? Never! So what is hiding behind this seemingly simple Victorian facade? A stylish contemporary family home. What else would you expect! Link here while it lasts.

Dragging my feet stalking

Posted on Thu, 19 Aug 2010 by midcenturyjo

I’m exhausted. Exhausted but excited! But first things first. Isn’t this the cutest sandstone cottage? A mix of traditional 1880 house and contemporary refurbishment. I’m stalking in Paddington in Sydney so no need to ask the price because 99.998% of us won’t be able to afford it! Still we can dream. (Link here while it lasts.)

And the reason for my excitement? We signed on a house today! 1860 brick and cedar two storey house with original brick separate kitchen. Four fireplaces, well two in the main rooms, one in the kitchen with a wood burning stove and a tiny one in the tiny stables at the back. I have dozens of photos. Let’s call them the befores as there is a lot of work to do but I still have to upload them and I’m exhausted, physically and emotionally. In a good way of course. I’ll let you know when I have the photos done. I’ll even bore you with them on my page. Need a scotch and to put my feet up. Enjoy this house instead because at the moment mine is no where near as grand 🙂

Coffee cake and stalking

Posted on Fri, 6 Aug 2010 by midcenturyjo

I had every intention of featuring a fabulous interior designer or a cool photographer today but I’ve been a bad girl and lingered too long over lattés and coffee cake with two blogger friends today. I’ve just rushed in the door and all I want to do is put my feet up and relax. It’s exhausting chatting for hours and hours. So a stalking post it is today! No need to write wonderful prose about this and that. Just wack up the pictures and say “wow”. Talk about not what you expected from the facade! The link to this Woollahra is here while it lasts.
