Still stalking

Posted on Mon, 30 Apr 2018 by midcenturyjo

You would think I haven’t got very far these past few days, that I’m caught in a virtual real-estate-stalking parallel universe. It couldn’t be further from the truth. Although I’m sharing this inner city Melbourne warehouse style home with its polished concrete floors, steel framed windows and soaring ceiling in its impressive entrance I haven’t spent the entire weekend stalking. I’ve actually been working on a new master bedroom in my own house that I hope to share with you any day now. I’m moving from my old black bedroom to a white, bright room across the corridor. It’s not that I fell out of love with black walls. It’s just time for a change. In the meantime you can tell me how you feel about the black ceiling in this warehouse’s open plan living space. Stalking on a Saturday

I’m stalking in the Melbourne suburb of Northcote today and what is on my real estate radar is this light, bright, family home. The modern renovation and extension takes what is a simple wooden cottage and transforms it into a four bedroom, open plan home with seamless indoor-outdoor living. It’s up for auction with a guide price of $1,800,000 – $1,980,000 AUD. (And yes Australian house prices are still crazy.) Link here while it lasts.

Today I’m stalking on two continents and it’s serendipitous that they just happen to be Australia and Canada.  Even better the Canadian property belongs to a long time reader. I’m teasing with just a couple of images from each. Click on the link to see more and good luck with your sale Matthieu.

Stalking on a Saturday

I’m in my favourite Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy and I’m stalking one of my favourite house types, the warehouse conversion. Plenty of light, plenty of art, library on the landing and just a hop, skip and jump to all the inner-city cool that is Fitzroy. What more could I want?  Oh maybe the estimated $1 800 000 to $2 000 000 to buy it. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking leftovers

Posted on Sat, 31 Mar 2018 by midcenturyjo

OK I admit I’m choosy and hard to please. I’ve been stalking leftovers. You know … those listings that are not quite right, have bad photos or you need to show me more photos please! House is amazing, furniture is deplorable and vice versa, wide angle lens stretch the rooms waaaaaaaay out of shape.  Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s finds include houses big and small near the water, stylish apartments, a church hall and family homes with open plan additions. Click on the images to head to the listings.
