Stalking on a Saturday

Posted on Sat, 21 Oct 2017 by midcenturyjo

In Amsterdam no less. I’m stalking a stunning, zen-like apartment with roof terrace. Restrained yet luxurious, it is part of a redevelopment by the Collective Studio, a collaboration of developers, designers, artists and brokers. You can see more here including pictures of the space at night. (Thanks for the tip off Dave!)

It’s another case of stalking déjà vu. Architecturally designed homes we have featured previously on the blog seem to be hitting the market. Today I’m stalking this Brunswick East house by Melbourne-based architectural studio Multiplicity. If I remember correctly I was quite taken by the storage system in the kitchen. (You can see it in its architect’s portfolio life here.) Now it’s even more fabulous with its “styling for sale” by inside story, the latest collaboration between Lynda Gardener and Belle Hemming. Love, love, love the Grant Featherstone Numero modular chairs in the lounge area. I’m biased though because I have the same ones. Link for this wonderful heritage cottage and its ultra-modern extension here while it lasts.

Today I’m stalking in the Melbourne suburb of Surrey Hills. Just a simple Edwardian home chock full of period features with a modern open-plan extension and the obligatory pool. Think leadlight windows and fretwork transoms, fireplaces and generously sized rooms. Everything is in a very restrained neutral palette, elegant, refined, period perfection as you would expect from a tastefully restored historic home but then… welcome to the 21st century family livingin the new addition. The perfect merge of old and new. Link here while it lasts.

I have a thing for grey, and so I fell in love with this 119 m² loft apartment in Östermalm, Stockholm as soon as I spotted it. White walls make a beautiful backdrop for grey here with subtle accents in colours via plants, the beautiful rattan pendant and the dining chairs. Lovely! For sale via Lagerlings.

Stalking black and white on the water

I’m stalking the epitome of style and relaxed sophistication on the the shores of Sydney’s Pittwater in the suburb of Bayview. Black and white with accents of warm woods and the glint of metallics. Effortless transition between the beautiful interiors and the lush landscaped garden. Then there are the views and the fact that you have only to cross the road to feel the sand between your toes. Want. Seriously, seriously want. Link here while it lasts.
