Stalking a family home in Melbourne

Posted on Wed, 31 Jan 2018 by midcenturyjo

We’re stalking a family house in the Melbourne suburb of Northcote, a house of two halves, old and new. You’d never know from its weatherboard cottage facade that behind is a light-filled, contemporary open plan home perfect, as you can see from the photos, for a young family. Inside and out meld seamlessly through sliding glass doors, extending the living space out into the courtyard garden. Stylish and kid friendly. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking on a Saturday

I’m stalking in Sydney’s Surry Hills, hip, happening and as close as you can get to the centre of everything. Welcome to one of the four penthouses in this boutique redevelopment of the iconic Griffiths Teas building. Only recently completed, it appears this warehouse style apartment has been staged for sale but that’s OK. If you can manage to scrape together the guide price of $3,500,000 it’s good to know that you might just have a few dollars left to purchase that IKEA PS-2017 corner easy chair to occupy pride of place in your new living room. I guess most of your spare change though might have to go towards window treatments in the bedroom and bathroom but, hey, you might like being an exhibitionist as well as a trophy real estate collector. Stalking contemporary black and white

Drum roll please … my first stalking post for the year! I’m in the inner Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst stalking an old mechanics garage converted by SJB. Black and white with luxury touches of marble, a dramatic vertical garden wall and old steel windows. Stylish contemporary warehouse living a stone’s throw from the CBD and only $2.7million. Link here while it lasts.

Working on a Saturday

You must be sick of me saying it week after week but it still holds true. If you have to drag your sorry self into work on a weekend it better be somewhere stylish. Amen. Fjord Helsinki by Studio Joanna Laajisto.

Stalking a dream

I was stalking in the Melbourne recently when I can upon two apartments for sale. The building, the gardens, so beautiful. What a dream… and they are. You see I’m stalking computer generated renderings. Very good renderings I might add.

“Envisioned by architectural developer Orchard Piper, Huntingtower Road offers beautifully proportioned homes in the heart of Armadale. In collaboration with esteemed architects Jolson and landscape architects Myles Baldwin Design, this rare property comprises ten finely detailed homes immersed in greenery.”

Sigh. Now if only they look as good after they are built and sold (don’t choke on the price) and the new owners move in with their own pieces of furniture. For now though I can dream. For sale here and here while they last.
