Stalking waterside leftovers

Posted on Tue, 29 Nov 2016 by midcenturyjo

Call me fussy. Call me picky. I have a problem. (Well quite a few if truth be told.) I real estate stalk for the prefect property but rarely find it. I do find lots of leftovers. Not quite right, love the bones but ditch the furniture, bad photos, I need more photos please! Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week I’ve taken a liking to waterside property. Beachside, harbourside, water views, from shack to mansion including one of Australia’s most spectacular and unusual homes in the middle of nowhere. Click on the photos to go to the listings. Stalking a jungalow bungalow

Oooooh did I just type that as a post title? It’s true though. A light filled, modern extension to this early 1900’s house is the perfect spot for indulging in a little plant lovin’. Great family home! I’m stalking in the inner-city Sydney suburb of Kensington. Link here while it lasts.

P.S. The video shows the house off better than the pictures IMO.

Stalking 2

I’ve dragged myself away from the bright and airy Redfern apartment of the last post and now I’m stalking an old St. Johns Ambulance station in Camperdown, Sydney. The stylish conversion has created a unique home with exposed brick walls and light pouring in through an internal courtyard. What is it about warehouse and loft living that just does it for me? Check out the private studio apartment/garage at the rear. Such a clever idea. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking 1

I can’t believe how light, how airy this apartment is. Love the old industrial windows, the furniture, that piece of art hanging above the lovely white dining setting, the curves. The whole thing is a hip “cross between art gallery, industrial space, and home”. Add the fact that it’s in my fav inner-city Sydney suburb of Redfern and sometimes real estate stalking makes me very, very jealous. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking a quick six

Posted on Tue, 1 Nov 2016 by midcenturyjo

Today is the day that Australia grinds to a halt… all for a horse race. Office workers put their computers to sleep and leave phones unanswered. Shop assistants take furtive glances at television monitors between serving dwindling numbers of customers. Ladies lunch in oversized hats and even school children take part in teacher organised sweep stakes. If the Melbourne Cup is not your thing then perhaps some stalking, just a quick six including one we have had holiday daydreams about. Click on the images to head to the listings. All via Domain.
