Stalking in Sydney 2

Posted on Mon, 18 Sep 2017 by midcenturyjo

My second apartment today is just a suburb or two away in Waterloo. Co-incidentally (or not) it is also by SJB Architects. A smaller, more intimate space over two levels with a moody palette and beautiful stone floors. The fact that it is a short stroll to the fabulous dining and shopping of the Danks Street precinct makes it even more appealing. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking in Sydney 1

Today I’m stalking two apartments in Sydney. The first, in the suburb of Alexandria, is in an award-winning block designed by SJB Architects. Quite honestly I want to move right in but only if they throw the furniture and art in as well 😉 Love the detail in the countertop and splashback in the kitchen, love how there is a cupboard for everything and how the master bedroom opens right up to the terrace. Now I just have to find the $1.6 million. Link here while it lasts.

Australian artist David Bromley is a serial house owner or should that be home seller. Whether inner city or out in the country it’s not too hard to spot a home with the Bromley touch. You might remember his Byron Bay house I stalked here. Today I’m stalking his Hepburn Springs country shack and it has all the Bromley hallmarks, the outstanding art collection, quirky one off pieces and statement bathrooms. If you want it though you’re too late. It just sold. Link here while it lasts.

Still stalking

I’m stalking another of Melbourne’s Victorian era mansions, a confection of a house in the suburb of Coburg. Like yesterday’s house its interior has taken a modern turn while still retaining the romance of bygone times (design by Clare Cousins Architects) but whereas yesterday’s house was layer upon layer of greige this house is all about colour. “Expressions of interest” means I can’t afford it but perhaps you can. I’m real estate staling in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda East. And what am I stalking you ask? Why a thoroughly modern family home with a touch of Scandi goodness… or is it? You’ll be quite surprised to see that the exterior is a period red brick building not at all the matching contemporary exterior you would expect. Link here while it lasts.
