MAKE architecture

Posted on Thu, 20 Dec 2012 by midcenturyjo

An extension to a small workers cottage in Kingsville, Victoria. A collection of “stuff” to reuse, recycle, make do and make up. An individually crafted design solution by MAKE architecture studio with a sustainable agenda. It’s about small ideas and the big picture. Fresh, creative. After all it’s not always about conspicuous consumption. (Photography TM PHOTO.)

Gee, do you think a guy lives here?

The more photos I come across from Brazil, the more I want to finally visit this gorgeous country. The landscape is breathtaking, and it’s inhabitants seem to be a creative, non-trend-following bunch of really cool people (holla at all our Brazilian followers!). After having a looksie through the portfolio of photographer Alain Brugier, I am putting a trip to Brazil high on my bucket list.

Escala Arquitetura

Carolina Escada and Patricia Landau are the talent behind architecture and interior design firm Escala Arquitetura, based in Rio de Janeiro. Whether their clients are into contemporary, retro or modern design, they’ve got it going on. I must mention that I am head over heels in love with the sofa in the photo above. Classic lines with modern upholstery in my favourite colour.

Design Nehez

Val Nehez and JJ Fox make up the Philadelphia/New York interior design firm Design Nehez. I freaked when I came across their portfolio. One word – WOW! Their spaces are creative, bold, fun and perfectly accessorized. They have a couple projects in particular that caught my eye – a mid-century makeover (with a to-die-for kitchen) featured after the jump and the bright, modern home in the first several photos. AWESOME LIVES HERE! (Check out the bread tab art installation below!)
