I am dreading the impending awfully cold weather like you would not believe, so I thought I’d do a double dose of escaping this reality of mine. This time it’s thank to Arkin Tilt Architects, coincidentally also located in California. These homes are absolutely stunning and inspiring. The photo above is going into my inspiration folder. Oh, to have that massive porch and steel roof. LOVE. These folks can come design my new house anytime. 🙂

It has been eons since Jo blogged Melbourne-based interior design maven Diane Bergeron. I stumbled upon her portfolio recently and was once again intrigued. A riot of colours and patterns characterizes her energetic and inviting spaces. This is eye candy at it’s finest.

This was a favourite back in ’08 with the first post and it’s still a HUGE favourite of mine. I’ve always loved the idea of having a massive library as a dining room.

I recently stumbled upon the portfolio of Parisian interior designer Sarah Lavoine and was completely blown away. Her spaces are contemporary, eclectic, modern, sometimes poppin’ with colour, sometimes neutral, but alway relatively simple but with high impact. The following country home she designed is absolutely stunning, and unlike like any country home I have ever seen. It appears to be HUGE, and room after room is intriguing at each turn and decorated to perfection. I am so smitten I plan to feature another of her projects later today.

Amorfo – amorphous, formless, the raw material. Amorfo – the Italian interdisciplinary design firm that explores architecture, interior design, installations, graphics and events. So many of us have seen that home in Elle Decoration and Real Living magazines but I’m drawn to so many facets of their work including their shop fitouts. Rooms where the art of the space and layers of meaning within the design mean just as much as the functional concerns. A minimal stage where product and person are the performance.

Melbourne based architectural firm BKK Architects was founded in 2000 by Tim Black, Julian Kosloff and Simon Knott. These guys have got it going on. They have won a ton of awards, been featured in a zillion publications, and have captured my attention with their creativity and picturesque designs. I am in awe of the exteriors of the homes they have created. The imagination, attention to detail and understanding of the landscape is so inspiring.
