Thurstan

London based designer James Thurstan Waterworth of Thurstan creates unique, rather eclectic spaces whilst in keeping with the period of the architecture. Whether it be ornate and traditional, modern loft or a 17th century masseria in Puglia, each space is breathtaking.

Colourful Parisian chic

I had to share one more project from Paris-based RMGB, a colourful and oh so chic apartment in Versailles. Notice though the colour comes from art and furniture. The shell is whitest of white helping those colours pop.

Bali beauty

“The project is conceived holistically as an ecologically sustainable product, coexisting coherently with its omnipresent natural environment. Using locally sourced materials, such as buried Javanese teak, bamboo, and stones from Sumba, was deemed a priority … Every detail is considered so carefully that even the organic vegetables grown in the garden are part of the overall conception.”

Elegant yet casual the house is a series of 5 pavilions filled with the owner’s collection of textiles.  For me, it’s the sinuous infinity pool and that view. I cannot wait until travel restrictions are lifted and we can travel again as the estate is available to rent. Hartland by Bali-based Studio Jencquel.

Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. Allure The Salon by Triibe.

A vacation ranch in Utah

Posted on Tue, 1 Jun 2021 by KiM

A weekend getaway to envy: This vacation home in Utah represented a gathering place, a “family camp” where the entire clan could congregate for extended holidays. We partnered with Bob White of Forest Studio and Midway Construction to create a welcoming camp compound to serve the family year-round, from fly fishing in summer to skiing in winter. The kids rooms are lined with beds for inevitable bedtime storytelling and the basement game room is the perfect place to put up your feet after a day in the great outdoors. The departure from a predictable western, reclaimed vibe in favor of a fresh take on mountain style using clean, painted surfaces lead to a home that feels very classic Americana. Designed by M.
