An apartment in Poland

Posted on Fri, 25 May 2018 by KiM

Lucyna Kołodziejska, the lovely interior designer from Gdańsk, Poland whose work we have featured for years, has kindly sent over some photos from one of her latest projects. This one is an apartment in Sopot, a resort city on the Baltic sea in northern Poland. As always Lucyna has done a fabulous job with this space, giving it an ethnic feel while keeping it modern and classy. I adore that tile inset into the floor in the kitchen and hallway and the mural  behind the bed.

Thole Residence by Design Platform

Modernizing the traditional can be tricky but I think the folks of architecture and construction firm Design Platform based out of Denver, Colorado really nailed this one (I assume it’s a complete renovation of an older home). Lots of elements I am quite smitten with like the entire exterior, the yellow front door, the exposed brick, the white washed wood floor, the massive sleek kitchen, and each and every bathroom. How cool are those designs in the hex tile?!?! I’m imagining how that would have looked in my hex tiled floor from the front door through the vestibule and foyer and down into the kitchen. *insert gaping mouth here*

Kitchens by Shannon Tate

As promised, I wanted to share some kitchens designed by Shannon Tate. This first one is sooooo gorgeous I thought it needed its own post. But then I found a few more and thought they were all worthy. Enjoy! (Photos: Claire Esparros)

A 1910 beach house in California

Here is another example of why I am such a fan of Reath Design‘s style. Frances Merrill took another Craftsman (this time a 1910 beach house) and brought home the funk! More fun wallpaper, tile, patterned fabric and vintage finds make this home soooo much fun and a total eye candy. If you ever thought about painting your old kitchen cabinets yellow, this should sell you on the idea.
