I’m feeling a little festive today so I thought I’d share this absolutely incredible seasonal treat with you today. It comes from The Ammar Girls (Debrah, Alexandra, & Olivia) of Virginia. “I’ve been noticing some recent photos on Desire to Inspire have featured holiday decorations. I wanted to share this photo with you of our mantle. I’ve been working on perfecting the shape of this piece for about 4 holiday seasons now and each year it gets a little more refined.”

“Each ornament is individually wired, twisted and secured to the garland. You can imagine what a timely, tedious process this is. Not to mention, they are glass balls so you have to be extra gentle handling them. I’m estimating there are over 500 total ornaments.” INCREDIBLE!!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us ladies!!

Hello Craig Wall! Welcome to Desire to Inspire. Love your work. Scrub that. LOVE your work. Fun, relaxed, cool and casual. New photographer crush? I think so. Love the white bright light in these shots. So Aussie, so fresh. Great eye, great understanding. You make me want these rooms. Inspirational, aspirational.

A little beach side shack would be perfect at this time of the year (remember it’s summer here in the land of Aus) and after Kim’s post yesterday I thought I’d share another shack I found while real estate stalking. Somehow I don’t think you could call this Sunshine Coast waterfront home a beach shack though. Minimalist modern lines with hard edges but loads of luxury. The public areas are particularly appealing. Imagine that view as you rinse the dishes (if you ever do rinse your dishes). The architect is Frank Macchia and the real estate link here while it lasts.

Our long-time blogger/interior designer friend Mark Cutler emailed us with some photos of a project he recently completed that we HAD to share. The home is in Santa Monica, CA, and was a huge remodel (it was actually raised to add a new basement – the architect was William Hefner). “We tried to create a home that has a modern interpretation of a traditional home. Our goal was to try and create a home that felt at home at the beach but wasn’t trying to be a typical ‘beachy’ house. The use of natural stone on both the interior and exterior gives the house a real warmth and great personality. I intentionally kept the furniture selections a little eclectic. I wanted it to feel like a collection that came together over years, not like a soulless decorators fantasy.” AH MAH GAWD. This home takes my breath away. The stonework is spectacular, and I really like Mark’s unexpected touches throughout – particularly the unique light fixtures. (Frankly, I could live in that closet). Thanks Mark!!

I think I’ll be having a photographer week this week on Desire to Inspire. I have found so many wonderful websites recently that I’m salivating. Join me in worshiping at the altar of über talented snappers? I think so. Today it’s Joe Fletcher. OMG! Pick up my dropped jaw off the floor. Is this not a stunning portfolio? Trained as a painter he explores the beauty of light while having an eye for the architecture. I have a new photographer crush. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
