An oasis of calm after the ceaseless clamour of the day. Respite. Retreat. Classical meets modern. Neutral sophistication. Elegant and urbane with a dash of controversy. White painted books? In this San Francisco Decorator Showcase library interior designer Geoffrey De Sousa explores the role of books and the room that contains them in a world of tablets and the Cloud.

Even the simple dirt sieve can become a work of art when it is displayed en masse. One is good. More is better 😉 Watermill House by Huniford.

A second look inside the pages of the latest issue of Inside Out. Too cool! Lee Tran again…
And then there’s the late 19th-century rabbiter’s cottage that has been rescued from its state as an office and turned into a gorgeous vintage-industrial home by fashion designer Claire Tregoning and cinematographer Tim Tregoning. They renovated it in “little blocks” over nearly three years and it probably didn’t hurt that a lot of the features in the home were designed by Claire’s brother-in-law, Rory Unite, who works as a furniture designer and artist. That amazing bed was created by Rory out of recycled timber and given a rustic charm with a few paintbrush coats of white. Styling by Nicole Valentine Don and photography by Fiona Galbraith.
Don’t forget Aussie readers can pick up their copy of the October Inside Out on Thursday. Don’t fret if you aren’t in Australia because you can read along on Zinio, Google Play and the Apple Newsstand.

I love all things vintage, and have wanted to get my hands on vintage lockers for ages. I either have not had the space for them, or have not found any I like. (My pals at Highjinx got some in a while back but they sold within minutes of them posting a photo on FB and IG). In the meantime I can love them from afar, and this round-up of all sorts of locker awesomeness will maybe be a sign that I will come across some soon! 🙂

Any plans? Anything exciting? Or like me are you squeezing in house cleaning and grocery shopping between family and work commitments? I’m hoping that Kim takes photos of her new house and shares them with us. I’m so excited to see more. To encourage her here are two corners of my home today. Your turn Kim. Have a great weekend everyone!
