I’m lovin’ …

Posted on Mon, 5 Jan 2009 by midcenturyjo

… this photo by Trevor Dixon. I love ephemera, all kinds of typography, vintage anything and that blue! The science geek in me is loving the eye chart and hey in the day of the computer, the typewriter tugs at the nostalgia heartstrings. A great look to copy for an office vignette. Photographer take a bow for a great photo. Unknown stylist all I can say is “Yes!”. See more of Trevor’s fab portfolio on his rep’s site here.

Vignettes

Posted on Thu, 29 Mar 2007 by KiM

I love seeing how people group objects together to form a vignette. Whether you do it with objects similar in colour or objects of the same form or just plopping a bunch of knickknacks down on top of a dresser, I like to think of it as art. And it’s something you can switch around often to keep things interesting in your home. I know – I do it ALL THE TIME.

Wunderkammer

Posted on Wed, 7 Mar 2007 by midcenturyjo

A wunderkammer, or cabinet of curiosities, is a place to gather your treasured collections. More than that…. the weird, the wonderful, the found and discarded. Nature’s detritus or man made discards. A collection may contain the truly beautiful or the down right bizarre. This post started out as a look at how to display collections but I was quickly drawn into the wonder of the cabinet of curiosities.
