With its decadent mix of contemporary and traditional, deep, dark, dramatic colours balanced by calming white and stunning Sydney Harbour views this over the top Darling Point apartment spans the top floor of a 1930’s grand home. One moment over the top, the next calming and restful. With a hectic work weekend ahead of me this is my virtual escape. I need to spoil myself. You can too. The Darling Point Pad is part of the Contemporary Hotels group.

Lea Korzeczek and Matthias Hiller of German interior designer/stylist team Studio Oink have just completed a styling project called Natural Life in Denmark. Unpretentious, effortless, honest, simplistic, genuine….beauty.

Awash with sunshine and colour, white walls and floors. A casually chic family home with stunning sea views. The perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city living yet still on the northern beaches of Sydney. Palm Beach Tower. It can be yours for a few days or a few weeks as a holiday let. Who wants to join me for a winter weekend getaway?

Here goes Nicole of The House Diaries with another newly renovated room in her desperately-in-need of-updating home in Victoria, B.C. I have shared her main floor bathroom and laundry/mudroom, her daughter’s bathroom, and now her kitchen is complete. The transformation is shocking, and OH SO BEAUTIFUL!

This is one of the before photos. EEEKKK!!!! You can see the full pre-reno horror in Nicole’s post, along with details of her decision making and resource lists. I gathered up some of the after photos to share with you all and I am absolutely in awe of how fantastic this looks. Good job Nicole!!!

Similar to The Oyster Catcher that Jo had featured a few months back, The Herringbone is another holiday rental property of photographer Paul Massey in Mousehole, Cornwall, UK. After the week I have had I would love nothing more than to leave everything at home (cats, electronics, real estate agents, maybe even husband) and spend a few days here with nothing but good food and good books. *SIGH* (Via Unique Home Stays)
