A family-friendly Amsterdam villa

Posted on Tue, 12 Apr 2022 by KiM

Next to the Vondelpark, this family residence is a mix of classic grandeur and ethnic playfulness. The marble kitchen is the heart of the house. This 5 floor villa is a mix of living areas, spa, offices and a yoga studio. We were super happy with the family, because they do love colours, wallpapers and prints with a unique twist. I love that each space is such a wonderful, vivacious mix of colours, patterns and textures. So much fun whilst maintaining a sense of elegance. Designed by Atelier ND Interior.

Dunford House

Dunford House is located in West Sussux and was built around 1852. It is a Victorian villa-style Grade II Listed building with additional outbuildings set in approximately 53.84 acres. The main house comprises 19 en-suite bedrooms, extending to approximately 11,300 sq ft, with a modern single level extension providing a further 5 en-suite bedrooms within 1,165 sq ft. The property also contains a 3 bedroom bungalow, extending to approximately 1,500 sq ft, previously used as a manager’s house. If that wasn’t enough, there is also a coach house provides a further six bedrooms, extending to approximately 4,000 sq ft. WHOA that’s a lot of bedrooms! I found this glorious home through Shoot Factory as a location home but I also found it looking very empty and listed on Savills, for £3,000,000.

Embracing colour in a Notting Hill family home

Posted on Fri, 25 Mar 2022 by KiM

Our Parisian clients needed help to fully re-configure their new home to make every inch of space work for the family. The client embraces colour at every opportunity. We designed a bespoke internal timber framed glazing detail to create a sense of space and flood light throughout the property. The last home I featured by K&H Design was a fun one, but this one beats it hands down. That glazing, the bold colours, the floor tiles all together make this home an absolute joy. This Old Hudson Maison

Timeless design combines comfort, convenience and elegance in historic Hudson. Our This Old Hudson Maison is a fully furnished vacation rental available for short term and seasonal stays. Book this unique French inspired space via Airbnb. Designed by the bespoke creative firm Zio and Sons. This home could not be more beautiful. I love seeing designers embrace the history of a home. For example, discovering that antique wallpaper in the living room and leaving it as a focal point, whilst filling in bits with venetian plaster. Gorgeous!!!

It can sometimes be a bit jarring to see such a modern extension on a centuries old home but given I often say I’ll need at least 4 homes to get in all the styles I really like, in this case you get the best of both worlds in ONE home! Here the 18th century Georgian farmhouse in Gloucestershire has been transformed into a double height art gallery and an office. The addition comprises the living spaces. An exquisite juxtaposition of old and new. By Alison Brooks Architect. Photos: Paul Riddle.
