If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim[@]hotmail[.]com and PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet!)
This is Daisy, our year-and-a-half-old Boxer who decided to make herself at home in our new bucket chair. She follows the sunbeams through the room all day long.

I’ve attached a few pictures of our Chihuahua, Hibou! She loves to soak up the sun while lounging around the living room 🙂

Kuma is our beautiful white Akita, who every once and a while decides to take a rest on the couch (usually when no one is looking).

Attached is a photo of my (nearly) 6-year-old Pom/Shiba Inu cross, Jordy, in his favourite spot by the fireplace. I’ve had him since I rescued him when he was 3-years-old and he’s happily made himself at home everywhere in our house. Any throw cushions or blankets that get added to the couch automatically become his. However, with his little button face it’s hard to say no!
– Keira-Anne (Vancouver, British Columbia)
Here is a picture of my cat sophie on my sofa. I think she was Audrey Hepburn in a former life.
– Cole (Chicago)
After preventing Ramona from lying on our couch, she decided the womb chair would do just the trick!
– Sue
Best seat in the house for watching the kids at the park!

These are our dogs, Leela (top) and Bailey (bottom) sitting with our recently finished DIY project, a mid-century modern chair we picked up of the side of the road. I’ve also included a photo of the ‘before’ state of the chair. Leela had meandered under it for a rest the day we were working on it in the backyard this passed summer.

Our one year old little dude, Gary, claims every piece of furniture in our home. Couches, chairs, beds, tables…nothing is out of bounds in his mind.

The first picture features a media console I built and was trying to photograph (sans kitties) for my blog. The divas, Lily and Stinkerbelle, would not stay off the console. They live for a good photo op…The second one is of Lily soaking up some rays on the same console.

This picture is of one of my cats, Moo Moo. She loves lounging on her retro cat bed (etsy) as well as our furniture. She always hops right in and claims her spot!

1 – We are living at home with two cats and one dog at Bosphorus İstanbul. Here is a photo of our English Bull Terrier. His name is Kafa, in good boy position on our George Smith sofa.
2 – Again Kafa ( means head ) our lovely good boy on his favourite Finland Furniture sofa.
– Burcu (Arnavutköy, İstanbul, Türkiye)
My husband and I just re organized our bedroom to have a little “nook”. I tried to take a picture to send to my mom to show her, but Lily, our french bulldog, wanted to be in the picture too.

Leroy is obsessed with the birds outside so I usually find him hear making chirping sounds. Chair is thrifted Modern Danish and covered in sheepskin. Pillow is a local silkscreener that makes cityscapes of our fair city.

A week ago I blogged about a stray kitty that has been holed up in my bathroom while we try and find her a new home. Unfortunately we have yet to find a home for her and she’s still locked up in my bathroom. Since my last post I had someone email me who sounded very interested, but I haven’t heard from them since Tuesday. I guess they changed their minds. 🙁 One other person has offered to take her in, but this person lives a 6 hour drive away and I really don’t want to put the poor cat through that long of a car ride. So far, that’s all I’ve got. The good news is she was at the vets on Friday (for a checkup and her first vaccinations) and was tested for all those nasty feline diseases that typically get passed around to strays…she is thankfully in perfect health. The vet thinks she is about 2 years old. She’s in heat right now which is alot of fun (OMG the howling…hilarious because my husband says it sounds like she’s yelling out “HELLO!”). She has an appointment to be spayed in a week.
Again, if anyone out there thinks they could provide this cat a forever home (and lives in or near Ottawa), please email me @ desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.com.
Help. Please.
We’ve featured Jake Curtis‘ photography before but I stumbled across his site again today and was struck by just how pretty these shots are. Lovely faded, slightly shabby, other worldly and dusty girly. Perfect for a drag your feet sort of Monday.
