It seems Apartment Therapy is having a Room For Color 2012 contest, and photographer Janelle has entered her home. The tropical colour palette she went with in her new home began with her obsession with the colour aqua (and moved into mustard, grey and lime), and the purchase of the Dandelion Clocks wallpaper by Sanderson for the dining room. Beautiful bold but soothing colours. LOVE! I know it is wrong for a woman now in her 50s (just… just) to get all cutsie pie over little white worker’s cottages but I can’t help it. I always want to pinch their chubby little house cheeks and muss up their curls. Maybe because this one has a touch of gingerbread trimmings. I know I would like to drink some tea with the owners at that table up close by the chimney. Just keep that weird expanding hallway well away from me. Another day, another daydream, another dream beach house from Martín Gómez Arquitectos. The more I see of Gómez’ vision for Punta del Este the more I need to move to Uruguay. If white and wood and lots of light are key prerequisites for your perfect surf side abode then this house will certainly please. Love the long shaded patios that are so prominent in Gómez’ work. Perfect for long lazy alfresco living.

Here is another breathtaking project designed by interior designer Sarah Lavoine. It is pretty obvious that this Parisian apartment is the home of an art collector. Most people who design spaces for art collectors leave the walls white. NOT SARAH! She used teal, bright yellow and black – all perfectly suited for the spaces and the artwork they hold. Jaw-dropping results once again. 

I recently stumbled upon the portfolio of Parisian interior designer Sarah Lavoine and was completely blown away. Her spaces are contemporary, eclectic, modern, sometimes poppin’ with colour, sometimes neutral, but alway relatively simple but with high impact. The following country home she designed is absolutely stunning, and unlike like any country home I have ever seen. It appears to be HUGE, and room after room is intriguing at each turn and decorated to perfection. I am so smitten I plan to feature another of her projects later today.
