Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 8 Dec 2014 by KiM

If you would like to send me photos to include in next week’s pets on furniture post, please ensure your photos follow these basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is too dark or unfocused it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to kim[at]desiretoinspire[dot]net. Thanks!

We are the Steyns. We have 4dogs and 2cats. They are all rescues:
Dingo is the caramel coloured Dachshund/Jack Russel cross
Mila is the chocolate coloured Dachshund/German Pointer cross
Bella is the black coloured Large French Poodle/Boerboel cross
Penny is the caramel and white coloured Jack Russel/Chihuahua cross
Oliver is the Tabby cat
Max is the large black and white one
They are all considered kids in the house. They are allowed pretty much everywhere and on any furniture.

– Alet

This is Monkey and Brutus on my bed. Brutus likes to wake him up and then all hell breaks loose. Love them both, so I leave well alone.
– Deon (South Africa)

Rocco likes Le Corbusier
– Francesco

Charles, the dog of my daughter Isabela, very cute and cheerful. He was a street dog and she adopted him three years ago. Today he is the joy of the house and loves to sleep on my black leather couch in the TV room.
– Margarete (Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais – Brazil)

This is Benson, 15 month old Whippet. Since we brought him home, he loves this chair in our front entrance, and greets all guests like the prince he is.
Rob (Vancouver, Canada)

And one from me. I was playing around with my new camera (Nikon D7100!!!) and caught Lucky being a big baby (and snoring) on the sofa.

Jewel House

A gem of a small house extension and backyard studio. Light dances through brick lattice and skylights while the simple triangular volume provides living and sleeping space. Floating. Lightweight. Jewel House by Karen Abernathy Architects.

Perched

Like a tottering tower of toy blocks perched precariously on the edge of a hill the Murnane Residence by Project M+ allows for stylish family living never far away from the stunning view. Reach out touch the sky or climb a rock wall to the next floor in your childhood dreams.

The definition of eclectic

This wacky home is a 5500 sq ft location venue in London. Oh, how fun this would be to use some of these bits of furniture and really go to town decorating. It has such incredible bones, and would be a photographer’s dream to shoot. Via Shoot Factory.

Working on a Saturday

I don’t think I have ever featured a travel agent on the blog before but this space is somewhere I’d be happy to call home. (Have you noticed I have a recurring daydream about living in commercial spaces?) East Ivanhoe Travel and Cruise takes its cue from a golden age of travel with a 60s style, an age where personalised service was the norm not a luxury. A contemporary look with a Mad Men riff. Interior design by Flack Studio.
