Up on the roof

Posted on Tue, 2 Jun 2015 by midcenturyjo

Climb the stairs to the roof of this early 20th century Arts and Crafts style building and you’ll find a surprise. A contemporary pavilion surrounded by an inner city oasis of green and stunning views. Darlinghurst, Sydney Rooftop by CO-AP.

Nicole Hollis, again

Posted on Mon, 1 Jun 2015 by KiM

We have showcased the interiors of designer Nicole Hollis several times in the past, but we missed a few great spaces so I thought I would do another feature. Her vibe includes some dark glamour, neutrals and raw materials…all with a high-end sophisticated look.

Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 1 Jun 2015 by KiM

If you would like to participate in the Monday’s pets on furniture series please send photos, your name, location and a brief description to kim[@]desiretoinspire[.]net. Thanks!

This is our Jack Russell Trevor who is a rescue loves to look expensive!
– Bart (Amsterdam, the Netherlands)

This is “Simon” our lovely cat, who loves sleeping in the living room.
– MariaGracia (Punta Hermosa beach, Lima, Peru)

This is Banshee, our 6 year old part Old English Sheepdog/part unknown pup. Every night she takes the best seat in the house. We don’t mind though. With all she has to put up with from our 2 and 4 year old, she deserves it.
Emily

Years of watching monday’s pets on furniture and Charlie finally poses for me!
– Joel and Lily (Stockton, CA)

I am attaching some photos of my pets, two female dogs, Lucero, (which means the first light in the morning, yellow one) and her daughter Esperanza (Hope), I do have a cat too, will send her photos later on.
– Maria (Uruguay)

I send you a photo of my two best friends, Ringo (male Maltese) and Amy (female Shih-tzu), enjoying a nap at our super-comfy couch. They love to mess up the cushions and cuddle up after a busy day playing, running and chewing stuff! 🙂
– Mariana (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

This is Pants, who hops wherever he pleases, on my George Nelson for Herman Miller modular sofa. My great grandfather built the coffee table around 1930.
– Maggie (Alabama)

Mi gata se llama MORA, es hermosa y muy inquieta pero cuando quiere descansar elige el mejor asiento!
– Nancy (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

A couple from me. The first is Milo being his cute fluffball self, and the second is Bernie, who gets more and more comfortable since I let all of the ferals have the run of the house (starting last weekend). He is relaxing on my beloved Green Light Shop chair.

More from Nadine Nakache Design

Another great renovation from Nadine Nakache Design. The original semi-detached home has been reconfigured and enlarged at the rear. The contemporary addition sees clever storage solutions and staircase playing a connecting role between living, kitchen and dining areas. Modern, simple, clean lined. Functional and fabulous.

Light and lofty

Posted on Mon, 1 Jun 2015 by midcenturyjo

The rear extension of this Randwick, Sydney home saw the creation of high ceilings and open space kitchen, living, dining all washed with light and a strong connection between interior and exterior established. The result… clean, simple design and a bright, fun family home. Love it. Architecture by Nadine Nakache Design with interiors by home owner Keren Rockman of Rock Interiors.
