Tile and wallpaper in a London home

Posted on Thu, 22 Jun 2017 by midcenturyjo

The home in London is for sale via The Modern House and I loooooooove it. So much fun with some really amazing wallpapers and fabric-covered walls by Pierre Frey, Cole & Sons, Timorous Beasties, House of Hackney  and X and gorgeous tile by Bisazza and Emery & Cie. A total gem with lots of personality. (Remodelled by Paul Archer Design)

The Chequit

Posted on Thu, 22 Jun 2017 by midcenturyjo

Is it just me or is this week d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g along? I just can’t take anymore. Time for a virtual getaway and since summer has just begun in the northern hemisphere how about we run away to the Hamptons? To Shelter Island to be precise. I’ve booked us into the quaint but cool boutique inn The Chequit. Trad with a twist and a soothing pink, yellow and grey palette… inside that is. The exterior screams summer in simple white and green, its porches filled with wicker furniture and pops of bright colour.

I have been an admirer of modern furniture brand BoConcept for as long as I can remember. They are masters at creating modern functional furniture that at the same time is timeless and works in every style of home. I also love the Danish vibe of their collections. Comfort and clean lines with a stylish simplicity that is so appealing. And they carry everything from sofas and chairs to dining tables, storage units, beds and all the accessories you need to add some pizzazz to your space. Very cool – I just found out they offer interior design services too. Genius! They’ll tell you what to purchase and how to arrange it too! Oh – and as a bonus – Mads Mikkelsen is featured in their 2017 catalogue. *SWOON* Here is just a taste of some stand-out pieces they carry….

I saved some bathrooms by Roselind Wilson Design for a separate post because they are so luxurious, modern and timeless and FABULOUS that I thought they deserved some glory of their own.
