A restored and modernized Brooklyn brownstone

Posted on Fri, 15 Jan 2021 by KiM

It’s been a minute since I shared a Brooklyn brownstone on the blog. More often these days it’s London Victorians that I come across that make my heart skip a beat but the home of interior designer Gillian Dubin reminded me how fabulous brownstones can be – especially with this much of its original architecture maintained and restored. This home in particular is blowing my mind. From ceilings to floors, the details are beyond incredible. (Photos: Noe DeWitt)

This house gives me LIFE. Over on my Instagram account I was recently lamenting about the bits of white I had going on in my house. (Particularly ceilings and trim) And this baffled the masses. This Arts and Crafts family home in North London designed by Studio Duggan is a PERFECT example of a home that looks incredible with colour. Ceilings and trim included! The colours used here are absolutely stunning. The lime paint, terrazzo floor, tile and cane accents are beautiful touches.

Waking up in Palm Springs

In Australia, we have quarantine hotels where returning citizens must stay isolated for 14 days to ensure the virus doesn’t escape into the community. We are very, very lucky to have extremely low and in most cases, no community spread. Unfortunately, none of our quarantine rooms looks anything like this “Waking up in Palm Springs” suite by Patricia Bustos. If only! Bright, fun, great vibes and positive energy.

Colour in the kitchen

Posted on Thu, 14 Jan 2021 by midcenturyjo

Still hanging out in other people’s kitchens even if it is only virtually. These days I’m looking for more colour in my life … and my interiors. Absolutely loving these two kitchens by Plain English. Blue and green or pink with gree. Tough choice. Which one is your favourite?
