WTF?!?!
{Maybe I should have added a big box filled with grass in my house reno plans, that way my cats would maybe stop bugging me to tie them up outside, and they could go eat the grass whenever they so desired and then barf it up all over my rugs}

It’s been ages since Jo blogged about Vancouver interior designer Kelly Deck. I stumbled across some of her work recently in a magazine and was pleased to find many fabulous spaces on her website crying out for an updated post. I always thought of her as the queen of exteriors but it appears she certainly knows what she’s doing on the inside as well. Her kitchens and bathrooms are what dreams are modern and totally dreamy.
I was nosing around in my inspiration folder and I have in there a grouping of art photos. In just about every one of them was photography as art. I much prefer photography hanging on my walls than paintings or other forms of art, as the graphic (and no-need-for-interpretation) quality appeals to me. Here are a few of these photos that have captured my interest for quite a while.

A couple of weeks ago I featured the work of stylist Solange van Dorssen (here), and she sent along a bunch more photos, including the beachfront home of architect Alejandra Galvalisi. It’s located in Punta del Este, Uruguay and was featured in Argentinian magazine Revista Living. It’s an interesting mix with rooms covered in corrugated steel, bright and airy rooms painted all white, and ends in a backyard oasis of stone and wood. (All photos below = Stylist: Solange Van Drossen/Revista Living Photographer: Santiago Ciuffo/Revista Living) P.S. That’s Sol in the first photo.
I have a thing for little loungey nooks like this one. Somewhere to curl up with a good book and chillax (ideally where the cats and husband couldn’t find me).
