I’ve always loved this home. Balanced on a ridge line in Brisbane with some of the best views in the city is a classic Queenslander home. An extension by Brisbane architect Owen Architecture seems to tumble down the steep slope, block stacked on block with references to the historic habit of building boxy little rooms between the soaring timber stumps this house would have once perched on. I cannot tell you the number of times I have travelled this road and strained to see inside. This is a home I have stalked in real life and now it is for sale. I can’t even daydream about moving into this one because it would break my heart that I couldn’t. The link for the listing is here and you can see more on the architects’ website here.
Cottage charm and designer flair. I’m stalking a cute little timber house in Bondi Junction with loads of light, stylish open plan, lovely lush garden and a killer inner city Sydney location. Love the white walls, the Black Japan floors, the quirky stairs here there and everywhere, the light over the dining table and the bedroom bay window. I’m moving in! Link here while it lasts.
Soft northern light, the simplicity of Scandinavian living. Whether bright and white or rustic and time worn it’s hard to pick a favourite. The ordinary is often extraordinary. Beautiful images captured by Finnish photographer Katja Lösönen.
Always. Always elegant and luxe. Always with an understanding of the space. Always textured. Always washed with colour. Always about the client. Always Australian, stylish and subtle. Always beautiful. Always Alwill. Always.
P.S. Remember when I was stalking the “dog house” a few weeks ago? Also by Romaine Alwill and her team. You can see more here.
The addiction is spreading. Stalkers are popping up everywhere around the world. Ann from New Zealand emailed with today’s house is in Kingsland, an inner city suburb of Auckland. The 1910 wooden cottage is bursting with personality and urban style. Ann says she could happily gaze at all its loveliness but she is particularly smitten with the pressed metal cupboard in the kitchen. The caviar artwork tickles my fancy too. I remember seeing this one in a magazine. Can anyone remember which one? Link here while it lasts.
