An eclectic modern home in Madrid

Sharing another simple, white space in Madrid because simple can be so good. This 250 m² home is in the Salamanca neighbourhood and was designed by Ricardo de la Torre. It has a cool, eclectic vibe with some mid-century and rustic elements that make it homey. I’m really digging all of the lighting here.

Close your eyes and imagine living in Paris in an apartment over your own art gallery. When I imagine such an appealing scenario this might just be what my mind’s eye sees. White and wood, amazing art matched by interesting architecture, old bones and modern minimalism, it is more like living in your own gallery immersed in the works of some of France’s best contemporary artists. 200 m² of French sophistication in the 9th arrondissement by Batiik Studio. A designer’s home in a Swiss castle

I know I am not the only one who dreams of living in a castle (France perhaps?), and I recently discovered a designer who is living my dream. Jorge Canete lives in a Swiss castle built in 1725 called le château de Saint Saphorin sur Morges and it truly is a vision from my dreams. Given its appearance inside, I would say it is something Jorge dreamt of and was able to bring to life. Books float in mid-air, a pendant light mimics a cloud, keys dangle from a crystal chandelier, pages torn from books flutter against walls….it is only missing a princess.
