Stalking 2

Posted on Fri, 1 Feb 2019 by midcenturyjo

Minimalist, modern with heritage features retained and packed with standout Australian art. What could be better? I guess if I moved in I would probably fall victim to my maximalist ways and start moving more things in but it’s houses like this that make me wish I could Marie Kondo my way to a simpler way of living, expensive yes but simpler. I’m stalking in Sydney’s Surry Hills. Link here while it lasts.

Black and white in Milan

Posted on Fri, 25 Jan 2019 by KiM

The drama of a black and white colour scheme always wins points with me. This 200 sq m Milan home has an art deco vibe and only subtle touches of colour like a couple of leopard print benches and velvet pillows. So classic. By Droulers Architecture.

Woodson & Rummerfield

Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield of Woodson & Rummerfield have been wowing Jo and I for years. I think we featured them for the first time about 11 years ago and haven’t since so it’s about damn time for a refresher! I love their bold, sassy style – classy and modern with quirky details for some funkiness. Exhibit A – that green stair runner with leopards. Not many homes can pull that off but how freaking fun is that?!

Catherine Bedel

I came across the portfolio of interior designer Catherine Bedel recently and was intrigued by her bold use of colour and pattern in a modern way. Here are 2 apartments she designed. The first is in Luxembourg and the second is her own apartment in Saint Germain, Paris. Both are just really graphic, eye-popping and ballsy. So I now love her. And she makes me want to grab a paint brush, a huge canvas and some black paint and make some art.
