“Discovered through Instagram, we were tasked by our clients to design a home to be the antithesis of a traditional northeast home (where they were moving from). The couple chose to refresh the home, originally built in 1955, as a way to breathe new life—and sneak an extra bedroom—into their space. When it came to the initial mood board, capturing a sense of cheerfulness and familiarity through the use of color was top of mind. With one heading a public art organization, integration of artful interiors and color was paramount. We designed the home with outspoken wallpaper selections and color combos that celebrate life.”

Definitely packing a punch with a riot of colour and bold pattern clash this home in Coral Gables, Florida is by Miami-based design firm Bunsa Studio.

This 1937 home in West Point, Georgia was designed by architect Henry Toombs and restored and a guest house added by designer David Frazier. I love the classic vibes and antiques mixed with casual earthy elements (ie. a plethora of rugs) and appreciate that he left some original features intact, like the tongue and groove paneling in the primary bedroom. Inspired by the joyful and eclectic atmosphere of the home in the ‘Paddington’ films we created a vibrant, pattern filled home for design lovers, with an emphasis on practical solutions for family life and interesting design details throughout.
This could not be more perfect for a family with young kids. The colours are so fresh and incredibly fun and have such a wonderful energy. Immediately brings a smile to my face. Tired of beige on beige? Craving colour, strong, bold and fabulous? This Culver renovation by Sagrada Studio embraced the client’s Indian roots and showcased her collection of art and textiles. Unique and full of personality. Beige? Who needs beige?

The proposed project, a classic North Eastern, shingle and clapboard “Big Chill” house set just about 50 feet from Long Island Sound had beautiful, rambling proportions and great flow. It had been roughly 20 years since they’d last renovated. It was time to refresh and reimagine life at home with classic New England comfort and style. We had 23 rooms in total to redo without interrupting the couple’s seasonal use of their summer retreat. This included light-to-full makeovers of six bathrooms, the complete redecoration of all main living spaces, six bedrooms, the total renovation of the kitchen, butler’s pantry and breakfast room, as well as all conduit spaces and a TV/Rec room with billiard table. 
TOM Interior Design Studio (made up of Tommy Smythe, Lindsay Mens Craig, Kate Stuart) created a wonderful blue and white vision of beachy wonderfulness in this home that exudes a classic/traditional vibe that keeps it from being too casual.
