Wesley Moon

I am swooning over these spaces created by New York based interior designer Wesley Moon. I believe that a home should reflect the people who live there, with rooms that are fresh and tastefully put together as opposed to “decorated”. I propose the unexpected, obsess over paint colors, and adore couture-like detailing that may go unnoticed by anyone except the owner or the occasional visitor with a discerning eye. I am interested and well-versed in all periods of design and decoration, believing that a mix of styles is what makes a room classic, timeless, and chic. And with that, he is a man after my own heart. This first home is so European chic I adore it, and it is making me fall for yellow.

Hello yellow

Sunshine, daffodils, egg yolks, rubber ducks and rain coats. There is something magical about yellow, something that brings a smile to my face. It’s the same with this ranch house renovation in Ojai, California by Bestor Architecture. This sassy single storey has cast off its post-war dowdiness and is fun and fresh, bright and modern and just a little unexpected.

Personality

It’s all about personality. Make a stand and say no to the boring and mundane. Don’t be a sheep. Don’t follow the crowd. No need to keep up with the Joneses. No. Be yourself and make your home an extension of who you are and what you love. Kensal Rise Factory by London-based Maddus Creative.

Concrete luxe

Metal studded concrete, marble, the bling of polished brass. A touch of velvet, the caress of leather, the luxury of light. A contemporary home at Torquay on the surf coast of Victoria by Auhaus Architecture.

Villa Gemmayze

Posted on Fri, 26 Feb 2016 by KiM

Colour, modern furnishings and patterned tile makes this 500 m² home in Beirut, Lebanon designed by architect Annabel Karim Kassar pretty spectacular. The starting point for the interior of the color-rich home in Beirut was inspired from a palm tree standing in front of the house, its orange dates and its very green leaves. In the midst of Gemmayze, an old, traditional quarter of the city, full of Venetian style buildings, where bars and restaurants are all buzz at night, the heart of the house is vibrant and dramatic. Pink, orange, green and checkered, the walls are a statement that shouts color as they are transformed into “designer pieces” themselves. Furniture carefully designed and picked out, oversize lampshades and geometric patterned flooring all stand strong enough and hold their own against all that color, where anything quieter would have been drowned out.(Photos: Ray Main)
