Gentl & Hyers over and over

Posted on Thu, 24 Jun 2010 by midcenturyjo

Is it wrong to love a portfolio so much that you stalk it? This is the second time I have featured work by photographers Gentl & Hyers. Can’t get enough especially when they update their portfolio on their rep’s site (their own is still under construction). It’s the richness, the jewel like tones, the rich almost thick light (you could cut it with a knife). Truth be told I did sneak in my all time favourite. It’s the last one. So lush!

Adela Cabré

Barcelona-based interior designer Adela Cabré has a knack for creating unique spaces that are timeless, moody and hip. The spaces below are my favourites from her portfolio – there’s something intriguing in each one. I think my preferences are the dark, dramatic rooms. Now that’s hot.

Decadence

Sensual, sultry and just a little wicked in a very grown up way. New work from Atlanta interior designer Michael Habachy. (See our previous post here.) It’s glamorous and broody, high end and hedonistic, OTT and fab. Michael has shared photos from a Buenos Aires’ bachelor pad, his Holiday House master bath and wardrobes and Atlanta nightclub AURUM. His new website is a visual treat with full screen images and sensuous sounds.

The dark side

Posted on Mon, 12 Nov 2007 by midcenturyjo

There is something about a dark room. I don’t mean that the light switch is off. These rooms are mysterious, cozy, snug, cool and cave like but they are also chic, elegant and unexpected. Be brave. Turn to the dark side.
