Sunday at a restaurant/bar

Posted on Sun, 25 Oct 2020 by KiM

As I get this post ready it is Saturday night and we’re waiting for our takeout from a restaurant in our neighbourhood – because we are still not able to dine in restaurants here in Ottawa. We try and order in dinner at least once a week to help support these businesses that are really suffering this year. I being able to enjoy a meal in a restaurant, particularly because it was what husband and I would do for the occasional date night. This restaurant in Vienna called Motto is absolutely gorgeous and would be a dream to visit in person. And that outdoor space!!! Designed by Atelier Karasinski.

If you think your home lacks a certain whimsical or creative energy, then this project by Alberto Villalobos is packed full of creative ideas that are a lot of fun and pack a punch. It starts with ceramic dogs flanking the front door. Then a random swirl pattern painted on the foyer floor. A planter of ferns built under a window. An ombre stair runner. A green and gold kitchen. A patchwork terrazzo floor. A monochromatic orange office. A dramatic black and brass bathroom. Yesssssssss to all of these elements.

An exceptionally unique Paris apartment

Someone once left a comment on a post about a Paris apartment: If life were at all fair, we would all have an apartment in Paris at some point in our lives. That post happened to be designed by Italian designer Fabrizio Casiraghi. This one is one of his latest projects in the 7th arrondissement, with architectural details that will blow you away. And I go back to that comment, with the belief that nothing could be more truthful. How is it fair that something this stunning even exists? With classical details and a vibrant yet not overdone and very unique colour palette, this is a dream. (Photos: Cerruti Draime)

My next home must must MUST have a decent sized kitchen. This one designed by Erika Powell of Urban Grace Interiors is probably the size of my house. What a dream! So much room to cook up a storm and stash away every possible pot and serving dish and small appliance you could ever need. I included some photos of the outdoor spaces too in case the kitchen wasn’t enough to make you fall in love with this home.

A cozy waterfront home in Florida

Posted on Sun, 4 Oct 2020 by KiM

I spent most of the day yesterday trying to figure out how to get all of the “indoor” plants in my backyard and greenhouse into my house for winter. HOLY SMOKES what a nightmare. I have to sell some of my furniture to make room for them all. Not kidding. Anyway, I’m tired and sore AF and wished I lived in a climate where I would not have to go through this hell every year. Like Florida. This stunning waterfront home on the bayou in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida belongs to interior designer and blogger Erika Powell of Urban Grace Interiors is just what I need. Except move it further south into Mexico and I’d be all set. (Found via this article on Garden & Gun, photos by Emily Followill)
