Mendelson Group

Classically elegant, traditional yet with a fresh modern focus. Energetic colours and patterns. No fuddy duddy fuss just a youthful take on a timeless look. It’s been a while since I focused in on a more traditional look and Gideon Mendelson with his sophisticated sensibility is taking my fancy today.

Kathryn Chaplow

Kathryn Chaplow is an interior designer located in Grand Rapids, Michigan that I discovered a little while ago while surfing the net for people to blog about. Her take on interiors is fairly uncomplicated and understated but that is what makes it work for real people. Sometimes we need to take a break from all these grand designs and appreciate something a little more ‘everyday’. And thanks to Kathryn’s designs I have a new found love for the colour green.

Dark green with envy

Posted on Wed, 20 Jul 2011 by midcenturyjo

Green with envy that I can’t own this gorgeous Malmö apartment and green with envy that it has escaped into the blogosphere already. Imagine my surprise when it turned up on my daily must read blog The Diversion Project this morning before I had pushed the publish button.  Jules we have good taste 🙂 This is so what I would want for my own home and my mind is eased with my dark colour selections. Wood, white and dark. Delicious. Just wish my own place had such amazing floors and ceilings. A truly special apartment via Bolaget.

A bedroom perfect for spring/summer

Posted on Mon, 27 Apr 2009 by KiM

Pethra of the Swedish design blog Design & Inredningsbloggen, wanted to share with us a bedroom she styled for her mom. It’s sooooo pretty, with lots of white and pink accents (my favourite!). In my opinion this is a perfect bedroom to bring in this new season. Lovely Pethra! (see more photos here)

Bright and bold kitchen

Posted on Tue, 31 Mar 2009 by KiM

I saw this today on a local paper’s website (Ottawa Citizen) and had to share it. How gorgeous is this apple (or acid) green kitchen?!?! It is Daniel and Helene Gauthier’s kitchen in their 2 bedroom, 850 sq ft downtown condo. (Perhaps it is so fab because Daniel is senior kitchen designer for Potvin Kitchen & Bath). They are very brave to have such a bold colour used so abundantly in their kitchen. Fantastic!!
