Stalking 1

Posted on Tue, 1 Mar 2016 by midcenturyjo

I’m stalking in Stockholm. An apartment with those old Swedish building bones we all salivate over. You know… tall windows allowing light to stream in, double doors to fling open as you progress from room to room. It’s missing the traditional kakelugn stove but there is a bath tub in the bedroom (in case you need more than the usual white tiled Swedish apartment shower room), a walk-in closet and a terrace. A flamboyant home in Le Marais

I pretty much fall in love with every home located in Paris. The ornate architecture, the random assortment of the most exquisite vintage furnishings, the general eclectic nature of the decor, the extravagance of it all….it always leaves me completely in awe. Like this dreamy home designed by the team of Mis’en scène 40. TO DIE FOR.

I’ll put up my hand and admit it. I love everything by Lyon-based design duo Pierre Emmanuel Martin and Stéphane Garotin of Maison Hand. I’m such a fan girl that I’d sneak into their showroom and secretly live there. I promise I won’t take over this apartment in Ainay is the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon though. That would be creepy. Living in the boutique is another thing 😉

And one a little taste of a couple more projects just because…

The one that got away

Woe is me! It’s nothing but gnashing of teeth and the renting asunder of clothing on my part. I am in deep mourning. This moody Swedish apartment is sold and will never be mine. Only these images are left to mock me. 152 sq m turn of the century penthouse in Stockholm sold by real estate agents Wrede. Link here while it lasts.

Latest from Fiona Lynch

Built by a builder for his young family, this Balwyn, Melbourne home is the latest project from interior designer Fiona Lynch.

“A minimal approach to materials has created an interior which is reflective and relaxing in feel. Concrete, timber and stone are the main materials in this project. Aged brass and grey stained oak cabinetry compliment the minimal approach to materials.”

Sophisticated, restrained, always with an eye to detail Lynch’s design is beautifully resolved.
