House of Rolison‘s latest project is a stunning transformation of a 1950s Bel Air home. Amanda and Taylor, known for their celebrity-favoured design work have taken a once dark and outdated house, with closed-off rooms and a dysfunctional flow and been created a luxurious, elevated space while preserving its historic charm. Furnished with pieces from Olive Ateliers, West Elm and Vetsak the home features exquisite details like a black marble shower, a sauna and a beautiful outdoor space perfect for entertaining. Wisteria Cottage – Detached 5 bed Victorian cottage with a modern timber & glass and critical extension, with a large garden that overlooks farm fields. The garden also has a separate timber built 2 bed cabin with modern rustic interiors. The downstairs is mainly open plan with a large modern kitchen, which has a 100 year old olive growing out of the kitchen island. The open plan downstairs consists of a large garden room, kitchen, kitchen diner, dining room, utility, snug/5th bedroom, office and downstairs toilet. There are 7 sets of double crittal doors that open out onto different parts of the garden overlooking farm fields and an 11th century church and graveyard. The first floor has 4 double bedrooms, three with ensuites and a family bathroom which has an antique roll top copper bath.
This home has both modern and rustic spaces which is a heavenly combination (IMHO). Also if I can somehow get a built in planter for an olive tree in my next house…. Location home available via Shoot Factory.
This gorgeous home on 130 acres is located in Millbrook, in the Hudson Valley. Designed by Cicognani Kalla Architect it is country living at its finest. The great room has two 18th century stone fireplaces, limestone tile floors, and custom French doors. The kitchen opens right up onto fabulous gardens and a stone terrace. It has a heated greenhouse, wine cellar, chicken coop, and outbuildings include caretaker’s home and office. I also found that in December of last year it was for sale for $13.1M. What a dream!
Malvern East Terrace House by Melbourne-based Studio Esteta transforms a double-fronted Victorian terrace into a warm family home that connects seamlessly with its garden. Inspired by Mediterranean villas of Sicily and Southern Europe, the clients aimed for a layered, open space that reflects their favorite travel destinations. The design carefully preserves the home’s heritage, with four rooms reconfigured, including a main bedroom suite and a guest room. A new addition blends modern elements with historic charm, featuring travertine steps, French doors, and a double-height void. The extension prioritizes entertaining, with lofty ceilings and operable glazing uniting indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a harmonious living environment.

When I dream of homes in Provence, they essentially look just like this one designed by John Tanner. Limestone floors, simple plasterwork, oversized fireplaces, crystal chandeliers, and a really beautiful almost monastic and minimal feel. I would not change a thing here. Architect: Bosc Architectes.
