Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 1 Oct 2012 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

Here’s my dogs Ninja and Zoe. Ninja is a Husky/Pointer mix (a rescue) 13 years old. Zoe is a chihuahua, 10 months old. They are best of friends, they play and cuddle all day long. Zoe is carefree, energetic, and a bit sneaky. Ninja is calm, (unfortunately) a little bit nervous and gentle. Different personalities, but as friends (or “sisters”) that doesn’t matter much. They truly love each other!
– Benedicte (Norway)

Old Moe and a new chair…
– Heather & Greg

This is Columbus on our falcon stool, showing his complete lack of interest in the cricket.
– Christy (Melbourne)

Here’s Dreamboat Annie Doodle who loves her over stuffed couch almost more then romping through the woods in the mountains of Colorado.
– Carlye (Nederland, Colorado)

I’ve attached 2 images of my beautiful Harry-Barry on the sitting room sofa.  In one he’s having a little sing-song! He’s my first Jack Russell and I’m absolutely besotted which I’ve been told happens by owners of other Jack Russells – they’re the toddlers of the animal kingdom. Sofa has been handed down a generation and now sports a loose cover in red and white checked cotton from IKEA  Cushion is by my sister’s company ‘Luxe Adornments’ and painting above is by me.

This is OJ on our master bed, making himself comfy on the pillows (my mom sewed the cases). If you look closely, you can spot his brother’s tail in the photo, too.
– Holly (Orlando, FL)

I wanted to send you a photo of my dog, Pickles, who snuck on set at our most recent Lamps Plus catalog shoot. He didn’t make it into the catalog, but the photographer was quick to snap this photo of him, and he’s enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. 🙂
– Ivette (Porter Ranch, CA)

My buddy Miles loves to travel with me and truly appreciates dog-friendly hotels with style. Here he is taking a nap in a boutique-style Westin hotel room.
Emma

Our puggle Hektor loves to visit my parents’ house. Not only do they live 10 mins from the beach– providing ample opportunity for running around like a maniac, digging to the center of the earth and eating seaweed– their living room features this uber comfy Shag Pouf from Calypso Home. (Shown in Navy in front of Restoration Hardware’s 1950s Leather Copenhagen Chair.) As you can see, Hektor has come to think of it as his personal pouf.
Alex (Brooklyn, NY)

Noah and MegaCat are pleased that the arrival of fall means that the wood burner is getting used, MegaCat has made the Eames rocker his own but this evening he kindly shoved up so that Noah could join him by the fire warmth.
Andrew, Tom, MegaCat, Noah (London)

Attached are photos of Galahad the Irish Wolfhound, age 1, lounging on our chaise or couch. A lovable comedian that loves his creature comforts. He makes any piece of furniture look like it should be in a castle! Attached are photos of my dogs lounging on our chaise or couch. A lovable bunch of comediennes that love their home comforts. Galahad the Irish Wolfhound, age 1. Uther the Jack Russell, age 1. Merlin the Scottish Terrier, age 13. Maab the Scottish Terrier, age 2. Roger the Corgi x Heeler, age 4.

My cat, Marcus, liked to chew on my plants. The only way he could reach this one was to get on the back of the chair.

My Yorkie, Wally, is clearly a little modernist pup (and a fan of Desire to Inspire).
Tish

Here is Polly the BT aka little miss squishy face soaking up the sun on the coconut chair.
– Janne (Norway)

Recently my family and I adopted a 2 week old orphaned kitten from a local vet clinic. His name is….Katherine. Yes, that is what we get for letting our 5 year old daughter name him 🙂 He is very sweet, curious,  and we love him already.
– Abbie

This is Maxwell the Rescue Pup (bichon-maltese mix) lounging on his favorite sofa covered in blue ticking with a Andy Warhol-inspired pop print of his late brother King, a yorkie rescue. Target lamp atop the glass table with leather legs.
– MC (Ocean County, NJ)

My cat Tontis playing hide&seek on the dining table with me.
My cat Tontis is relaxing/taking a nap  on her favorite armchair.
– Hande

Last weekend i went out to get coffee and when i returned, i found Lola like this, on top of our bed.  (She’s not really a pet on furniture kind of girl.) cracked me up she had been caught.

This is a photo of “Baby,” a recent Poodle rescue, who is enjoying a nap on her favorite chair, a vintage McGuire chair I found for $15 at a flea market here in Duxbury, Vermont.
– Susan

Pablo and Sasha are my lovely cats. They really appreciate a comfortable furniture.
– Priscila

Our little cheerleader Minky (caught mid yawn) on our new ottoman, meant for our brand new deck, only finished on Friday.
Our new deck with Lulu and Minky surveying their kingdom.

– Anne-Marie (Cape Town, SA)

This is Rosco, a one year old dachshund sleeping on the couch.
– Brandi

The photo shows our Alaskan malamute TROMSO. Technically speaking, Tromso is not ON furniture because he is too big for our sofa or armchair (or basically any furniture item in our home)…  but he fits in nicely in that cosy “nook” between our old commode (bought in a junk sale) and the armchair.
Agnieszka (Murowana Goslina, Poland)

I saw these pictures of pets and would like to see if I could send you a picture of my cat. His name is Morpheus and loves to stay home on the couch.
– Laís

Since entries were a little light for today, I thought I’d add in a couple of my own. The first one is Felix, the almost 30 pounder, relaxing on my vintage leather pouf in the living room. The next one is Milo curled up in his favourite new spot – a old crate fitted with a pillow. Above him is Edgar. That is a tub on a stand with a lid made out of tires. At the beginning of summer my husband decided it was a great spot for the cats (right under the window) so he flipped the lid upside down and put a blanket on it. Ever since one of the 7 cats is ALWAYS on it.

This is my lovely little black pug Elliot – helping me “spice up” a picture for my blog of a classic Wegner chair as well as my newly made posters with diamant pattern.
Katharina (Copenhagen)

Here is a picture of Nigel on a lawn chair. He is a Welsh Terrier.
– Jeff

Here is Lapo relaxing on the Barcelona ottoman in our living room.
– Tiziano (Reggio Emilia, Italy)

This is our new family member. Stray dog that we adopted a month ago. Now we have two cats (both rescued) and Terrie, female dog. She is two years old. This picture is taken in our Bela Vida Gallery.
Belma (Sarajevo)

This is Star on her throne. She is clearly a lady of leisure.
– Amelia (Chicago, IL)

After recovering a chair, my Scottish Terrier, Greyson, decides to claim it to watch for his arch-nemesis, the squirrel. Later, he jumped in my ‘after’ photo.
Patricia

This is a picture of Kahlua and Cream snuggling on the couch in our living room. Kahlua is the dog and Cream is the cat; we know that her name is ironic since she’s black.
– Jessica

This is MegaCat and Noah on our dining room sofa, No no is desperate to feature on pets on furniture, he was so jealous when MC made it on to the site a few months ago 😉 They are both rescue kittens and came to us a year ago with their mum.
– Andrew and Tom (London)
