The owners of this apartment in Moscow wanted it to be bright and spacious and reflect their personalities and passion to travel. They must have very outgoing and eclectic personalities because WOW is this space ever both of those! Such vibrant colours, and unique details like the mural behind the tub, the rug made from used clothing and cushion from vintage jeans army tents and a Chinoiserie mural by the kitchen.  I really admire designer Daria Vasilkova‘s creativity and attention to detail. (Love the glass wall sconces repeated throughout the apartment in rather random placements)

I am always in awe of the meticulousness and playfulness of design firm Kingston Lafferty Design and this restaurant in Dublin is no exception. Tasked with the challenge to transform an empty shell retail unit into a restaurant, café and takeaway with a new mezzanine kitchen and bar, KLD were appointed to carry out the interior architecture and design for new Cinnamon restaurant. KLD designed all the light fixtures, reminiscent of oversized lollipops, to the wall cladding, tabletops and built in seating to maintain a bold and toy-like feel throughout. “We wanted to create a light-hearted and childlike space with an element of escapism.” Soft pastels are heightened with textural changes from soft leathers, glistening tiles and high gloss lacquered surfaces. The colour palette was kept deliberately simple and repetitive so that it visually connects. Mirror was incorporated in various ways to echo the full height dramatic glazing and bring in the natural light.

Colour, colour, colour. For those who think that Australian designers can only do beige I give you The Palm, Woollahra by POCO Designs.Take a mid century vibe, wrap it in a jewel box of bright colours, open the interiors to the outside, sprinkle on the luxe and you’ll never crave beige again.

Small doesn’t have to mean insignificant and boring. Make every piece count and a small space can feel larger than life. From white shell, to layered urban retreat. A complete redesign and renovation of this one bed London apartment, creating a new start for the homeowner. A layered scheme of pale wood, natural stone and linen with touches of brass and laquered wood. The palette is a soft neutral base (perfect for our client) with a powerful deep burgundy top note that adds sensuality. Bespoke joinery creates ample storage with black metal details throughout that ground the whole space. We opened up all the doorways to full ceiling height and connected the kitchen to the space with a new opening. Interior design by 2LG Studio.

I am head over heels in love with the landscape design of this California home. The bold orange/red painted exterior accents really make everything pop and add a modern touch. Lush gardens hug this 1905 national historic register home in Palo Alto’s Professorville neighborhood. Vibrant homeowners wanted to create a landscape that engaged the neighborhood and featured layered gardens with a Bay Area sensibility. The landscape is now defined by a series of outdoor “rooms”, with flexibility for intimate family gatherings and large social events. Water-use is concentrated in the public facing areas of the site. Highlights include custom recirculating water features, hand-made clinker brick walls, a charming vegetable garden with custom chicken coop and mature perimeter plantings. Designed by Boxleaf Design.
