A restaurant for the dogs

Posted on Wed, 21 Oct 2015 by KiM

I LOVE this restaurant by Polish interior design firm 2kul! Restaurant is called Lord and idea of an Investor was to make English type pub in Poland. Name sound quite serious, but we do not want to scary people with too elegant, too luxury place so we invited our good friend artist Joanna Burda, who painted a whole family of aristocratic… dogs – a little less serious 🙂 Dark, dramatic dining rooms have always been a favourite of mine, so imagine some heavy velvet drapes, tufted leather chairs, a blingy chandelier and a huge dog portrait like these – I love that Weimeraner below.

Stalking bright and white

Posted on Mon, 5 Oct 2015 by midcenturyjo

I’m in Paddington Sydney and I’m stalking a warehouse conversion. Bright, white, what a delight! Indoor outdoor living with a relaxed, urban cool vibe. Colour, tick. Mid-mod industrial, tick. City skyline views, tick. Party house, tick. Perfect. Just need the $2.4 million. Oh well. A girl can dream. Link here while it lasts.

A red I actually like

Posted on Mon, 6 Jul 2015 by KiM

I dislike red in any application. This is the first time I have ever actually liked a red in an interior. Kudos to interior designer Christy Allen for finding this perfect shade – Benjamin Moore’s Soft Glow, a coral red with pink undertones. It’s stunning with the artwork and fiddle leaf fig tree.

Stalking a smart apartment

Posted on Tue, 26 May 2015 by midcenturyjo

Actually I’m stalking an apartment by Smart Design Studio but in another incarnation. You’ll see the original styling of the apartment by the architect a few photos done but what is listed is another owner’s take on the space. Not quite as dramatic (or perhaps it’s the difference in photographers, the double images are from the architect’s website) this softer, whiter version still showcases the clever layout of this studio apartment in Potts Point, Sydney. Don’t be shy

In these spaces, someone was not shy with colour – whether in large or small doses. A little colour pick-me-up for your afternoon. From the portfolio of photographer Thomas Loof
