Ideally situated in the heart of the golden triangle within easy reach of Gaillac and Albi and 1h15 minutes to Toulouse is this magnificent period property, dating back to the 15th century. As part of an old chateau, this majestic building is currently a private residence alongside a guest house and has a total of 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. The 3 levels are all accessed via a beautiful inner courtyard and an impressive stone spiral staircase. The galleried landings are of exposed timbers, with half-timbered walls, double or triple mullioned windows and lead-set stained glass windows. The building was restored by master craftsmen over a 4 year period in the 1980s. The stunning 77m² lounge/reception room has impressive beams, exposed stone walls, a monumental fireplace, stained glass mullioned windows and access to the south facing terrace with its 180 degree view of the beautiful surrounding countryside. There is also a 377m² garden just opposite the property which could be accessed from inside the house via an underground passage.
The inner courtyard layout, the yellow gothic-vibin’ kitchen and the terrace with the incredible views….. oh my! For sale via Savills.

Stone House

I love the rustic, cottage/farmhouse look and feel of this home in the Hudson Valley. It is an amalgamation of an 18th century farmhouse, a wood Civil War–era residence and a 3 story addition. Together it almost looks like a little village and they blend together really beautifully in this very picturesque, 56 acre property. And that kitchen is massive and an absolute dream! Luxury living by the sea at Cabo San Lucas by Chicago-based interior designer Sasha Adler. It’s about layers of textures, a carefully curated mix of vintage and bespoke pieces, exquisite attention to detail and a sense of fun, of generosity, of welcoming family and guests. The interiors blend effortlessly with outdoor spaces all the while celebrating that view. At the same time private rooms provide respite from the go go go of partying.

A layered home in the Cornwall countryside

Posted on Fri, 10 Feb 2023 by KiM

A country home in Cornwall screams for quintessentially English décor with layers upon layers of colours, patterns, textures and architectural details in abundance. That is just what Mary Graham and Nicole Salvesen of Salvesen Graham did here and it created such an inviting and warm home that could stand the test of time for decades to come. A narrative of scale and tactility, of tradition and family life, artefacts and generous living. Pared back yet aesthetically layered. A former ballet school turned townhouse in the heart of The Hague brought to life by Avenue Design Studio.
