Beach beauty

Posted on Thu, 7 May 2015 by midcenturyjo

A soft palette of sand and stone, washed out pastels and white, beautiful white. Clean lines and bespoke cabinetry. Whitewashed brick, blonde timbers, ethnic touches and a relaxed elegance. Beach side living at its stylish best. Avoca Beach house by one of my favourite interior designers Karen Akers. Pinch me. It’s a dream.

P.S. So you think this place couldn’t be more perfect? Well it can. You can rent it for holidays! You can email for more information here.

I will never be a minimalist, but after clearing out 2 rooms of crap to make room for the feral cats (and now it’s piled around the house), I wish I could be. Instead I will stare dreamily at photos such as these and wonder what it would be like. Via Belgium architecture and design firm Oscar V.

A fresh, modern home in Austin Texas by FAB Architecture. Clean contemporary lines but with a hint of a more traditional home. Siding, gables, paned windows. Inside bright and light spaces accented with black. Stylishly simple and simply stylish.

A classy beach house

Soothing shades of white, cream, blue, grey and green. This is beach decor at its absolute finest, in this California beach house by interior designer Becki Owens. It is classy yet weathered, with lots of cozy upholstery and bits of sparkle and pattern to catch your eye. This is just super pretty.

Last week I shared a restaurant by Suvi-Maria Silvola and Laura Seppänen and… well… I just couldn’t leave it there, could I? I just had to share this apartment by Helsinki based interior designer and decorating editor Laura. Classic scandi design. Bright, white, clean lined and stylish. Love it.
